Really works! Fits Skilcraft & Scepter, but the right cans, see review
Awesome item. Fits Skilcraft and Scepter 5 gal MILITARY style can caps (be careful, there's a CHEAPER 5 gal/20 L Scepter can out there that's BLUE, and is NOT the same, and this will NOT work on that one. This works on the Scepter 05177 Military Water Container - 5 Gallon (20 Litre), ASIN B00ZLYUOP6 and the Skilcraft 7240013655317 Can, Water, Military, Plastic, Green, 5 Gal, 7240-01-365-5317, available at other outlets. They're basically the same, NATO standard - the Skilcraft is made in the USA, the Scepter in Canada. Aside from slight color differences and markings, they're the same. Saw other reviewers saying they don't fit. Well, you need to know how to use this. It DOES fit BOTH (I have this wrench and I have both manufacturer's cans as specified above, and it works). It's made to fit tightly on the large opening. The trick, fit the notch on the underside of this wrench down on the cap TAB first. There's a notch on the wrench on the HANDLE side of it that fits there. It does take a little push, but it'll fit. THEN, step 2, push down the opposite side of the wrench (across from the handle); there's a notch there that fits over the cap LOOP. Push (it'll go!) down, and now you've locked the wrench securely on the cap. Turn to open. The design is overall brilliant. There's also a vent cap and a small cap that you can attach a spigot to on the large cap. Look at the end of this wrench handle, there's a small hole. Sure, you can put a loop on that and hang it, but it's MADE to open the smallest (vent) cap on the large cap! Then underneath the wrench (it's not "bored through" like the vent tool) is a wrench that'll fit the larger (spigot/pour cap) of the two "on cap" covers. Hope that helps. It absolutely works!

Works great once you figure it out
After learning how to use this (a certain orientation is required), I found it very helpful to unscrew the cap from the Scepter water container.

It is huge
I just wish it was a little smaller, but I guess it wouldn’t work the same if it was because it also works on the large opening. Other than that it’s really good.

Happy Days ! !
I’ve had my scepter five gallons for over ten years . In that time I’ve never been able to use my spigot accessory because it requires cans to lay on their sides . Both caps leaked and would probably lose most water overnight . I’ve never been able to get caps tight enough and suspected bad gaskets .The caps are harder to deal with because of advancing arthritis in my hands .No more, as has already been said many times here , no more leaking .Pretty much works as designed .
