Great for its price range!
Firstly , I had tried to use it as the media system main synchronized system mixed between analog ( since I had B&O system) , the recent high end record players and TV plus Apple TV.After wiring and connecting then redesigned my plan for couple of weeks . I was nearly quit and gonna buy the upper model of Denon which will cost me 1,000 something.Spoke to the customer support service for help twice and the end - it works! Thanks Denon !So if you cannot figure how to make thing work- they really know what they are doing. It is not the prettiest looking one but once it works - The performance is great for its price range.Highly recommended!

No digital audio coax, photos show the US model
Updated: the model I received lacks the digital coaxial input shown in photos and videos. This is needed for connecting other audio devices such as the Sonos Port. After a couple of calls to Denon support along with a high-street hi-fi retailer who unboxed one while I was on the phone, this is the situation:The AVR-S970H (reviewed here) and the pricier AVR-X2800H only have a digital coaxial port on their US models. In the UK, that part of the back panel is blank. Initially Denon seemed to think it was the other way around, but a second call confirmed this. How to tell - if the power label shows 110V, you're looking at a photo of the US model, not the UK model that you'll actually receive. At the time of writing, Denon said they would update their website but haven't yet.I assume this is otherwise a reasonable mid priced AV receiver although I am disappointed that Denon don't support Works with Sonos (even on the ones with digital input). Obviously they want to promote their rival Heos system, even though they can integrate just fine with Apple, Google and Amazon. Unfortunately the Heos app is awful, and it doesn't support YouTube music. That is a compromise I was reluctantly willing to make given the lack of better options on the market - but the complete lack of digital coax input is a step too far. You have to pay nearly double for a much higher end model to get this one little port. :(

Sounds great by not plug and play
Great sound and features but you need to manually set up most features so not plug and play. Developed an issue with ARC function as after software update it will not automatically switch on or change sources with changes via the TV remote.
