Solved Belt Tensioner Noise
Used on a 2005 Acura MDX. The honda/ acura 3.5l belt tensioners of this design are well known for the rattling noise that occurs through wear and tear. This tensioner got rid of the noise and was a perfect fit, with the exeption of the provided bolt, not threading as smoothly as i'd like. no issue there as i just reused the original factory bolts. Build quality was identical to oem.

Wanted to love it, but it began to fail just after the 30 day return window
For the price, I figured this would be worth a shot, since it is 20% of the cost of an OEM part. Unfortunately, just after 30 days, I found the pulleys began to whistle in the cold, loud enough to hear it very clearly in the cabin. It is only getting worse now and it is only a matter of time before I will need to take it out and replace it yet again. Disappointing. Maybe a replacement will be better, maybe I just got a bad one? Guess I'll never know because I'm past the 30 day limit.......Updated 2/9/2025:Not only is it whistling now after only 2k miles or so driving, but it is making the same creaking sounds as the old tensioner it was supposed to replace, and its tension on the belt is already starting to weaken too. Don't waste your time with this product, buy from an OEM supplier.

Perfect
My existing tensioner pulley had about 1mm of play causing the belt to chirp annoyingly. This part fixed it! Fairly straightforward install. I have a 2011 Honda Odyssey. I took out minimal clips on the splash guard behind the wheel and folded it back and clipped it to keep it enough out of the way to get the job done without entirely removing the splash guard. I had to break the pulley bolt from overtop inside the engine compartment with a breaker bar. Once loosened I finished below from the wheel opening.

2005 Honda Pilot - Quiet as a mouse again!
Solved my engine whine issue! Few things to share -Expect to loosen the idler pulley cover, so it can travel up and down the bolt/screw. Mine was stuck on the bolt out of the box, tap from a rubber mallet fixed that issue. No damage afterwards.OE mounting (bottom) bolt will need to reused - did not come with this part.I needed a 3/4 torque wrench, for the mounting and idler pulley bolts. Max foot pounds (range was 33)Fast shipping, item was not damaged.Edit: updated to 5 stars - engine still quiet as of June 2024

Buy OEM instead if you can afford it
My drive belt squeaks when I first start up my can. I can only assume that this new belt tensioner is to blame. I am giving it 3 stars instead of one because I am not 100% sure that the tensioner is the cause of the squeaking noise. But I highly suspect that it is.
