Playable instrument for anyone, great playable instrument for a Lefty.
I am left handed, & I play left handed guitars. Suffice it to say that playable left hand guitars are not easy to 'test play', or even to come by. I needed another left hand acoustic, to throw in the truck when visiting friends. Ovation makes a great left hand acoustic guitar. I have a Celebrity, I bought a used one from Guitar Center for $100. To this day I often use it to learn & to write new songs. It has an electric guitar-like neck, very playable, it is constructed in tune, it is a tough guitar and holds itself together well when mistreated in terms of dryness, etc. Though ultimately through neglect the top of the Celebrity cracked, it was an easy repair and still the guitar plays like a champ. Problem is, I have become very attached to that Celebrity and could not bear losing it some drunken night out somewhere. It stays home. Same with the Martin, it stays home. Enter this new Celebrity. Just as playable. Sounds better. You can get a lot of nuance of tone out of it. I only use it acoustically, but the built-in tuner is excellent once you get your mind around how it works. If it's good enough for Roy Clark, it's probably good enough for you, too - & you are getting the Ovation attention to detail found in all of its guitar models. You are getting the toughness and the integrity. This new Celebrity has a roughened patch on the carbon fiber body - it stays put on the thigh whereas the old Ovations were rather difficult to get to stay straight, it was a constant fight. One of those annoyances worth adapting to, but now with this model there is no difference between it and an ordinary acoustic guitar in that regard. Tuning machines work well, I have better, but they are fine. Could put Grovers on it but, they're fine as is, it stays tuned. Of course it's in a case with a humidifier that has a gauge on it. The guitar is a little outlandish looking at first but, when you realize that the holes are where they are for a reason, and you hear the separation you can work that for a whole new level of acoustic technique. I will say that it is a quiet guitar, and I've been working to get more punch & thump out of it - it can be done, though the Martin does it so effortlessly. The Martin is 3X the price of this guitar as well, and for a lefty, well for around 1500 you can get a playable Martin but I don't think it would last the weekend as a truck axe. For $500 range, this is the guitar I recommend that Lefties buy. Get a nice strap and drop some cash on a good case for it, with a humidifier that has a gauge. This is a great guitar for Lefties, would be a good gift to a beginner!Update 12/19 - despite using a rather nice humidifier in the Ovation branded guitar case (the holes in this guitar are too small for the humidifier to fit inside the guitar as would be normal), the neck developed a slight annoying hump. I removed the back panel and loosened the neck with the tool which corrected the issue - but I discovered two loose nuts spinning free on studs under the bridge. So be on the lookout for that. Still loving this thing, it is so fun to play!

Never again.
After nearly 2 months, I finally got one. It turns out that many people are selling these guitars, but nobody actually has any. When this one finally arrived, it had more shipping labels than I have ever seen on one box- and I'm in the delivery business. After it got off the boat from China, it was in a Drum Workshop in CA on 2 January 2019. Then it was shipped to another Drum Workshop, in TN and sold to/thru Amazon in KY to a guy in TX, returned to Amazon in MI by way of the Drum Workshop in TN. Then I bought it and it was shipped from MI to MD. Somewhere during this national tour, most of the packing material was removed and never replaced- hence the enormous chip on the top. Since this seems to be the only guitar of its kind in the entire contiguous United States, I'm holding on to it like Grim Death in the hope of getting it repaired. Apparently the Amazon customer support staff are all staying home these days, but their automated texting system offered to replace the guitar with a case- maybe if I hold out, they'll throw in some strings or something equally useless. Moral of the story: never buy musical instuments here. Go to the manufacturer. Go straight to the manufacturer. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

Nice guitar but is for left handers
This was bought as a gift but when it came I saw it was a left handed guitar. So I guess y’all should ask seller what style guitar if buying anyone .However I did end up returning this one and had to get one from a local shop . It is a nice guitar brand . Just was the wrong handed one

I love this guitar!
You can feel the Ovation quality with the fit-and-finish, sound and feel of the fretboard. A terrific guitar at this price-point. Just awesome!
