Bright and shiney for sure!!!
I purchased the four foot four pack of these lights four, an event I am throwing. These lights are extremely bright and will light up any room. Works great! It is a fantastic design, slim and long. It's mostly made of plastic and gives you a couple of different options when it comes to power hook up. We are going to have all sorts of fun with these.

"LED > halogen" - Looks great, very bright UV lighting with very simple design and construction.
Rapid-fire Review:As a person who has owned several classic "tube" black lights, I can safely say this is the best product ever for UV enthusiasts. It's simple, easy to use, and affordable. Low cost, energy-saving, with very small detectable heat signature from the bar itself. I think it's quite safe, though I wouldn't recommend keeping UV lighting on 24/7, just as a precaution. It would be smart to mount these bars in a way that the beads are not in direct sight. It makes more sense to angle them toward the ground or the ceiling. Use furniture or other methods to block the direct rays hitting you in the sensitive eyeballs. The company included a set of plugs for each of the four LED bars I ordered, as well as connector rods that turn multiple bars into one long mega bar. That means I can light four different places around the home or chain them together and use a single plug to control all four bars. I like how versatile this kit is. If I ever plan to expand my UV into a bigger space, I will definitely search for this product again. The 3-prong connecting rod is NOT strong enough to keep the bar together. You'll need to use the metal brackets to keep the bars in place on the wall, if you choose to mount them. Otherwise, you could possibly use clear tape to keep the two bars from wobbling away and loosening the gap between them. I don't know for sure if tape is recommended, so don't even try it unless the manufacturer says it's safe. For me, I was able to keep the 3 of the bars chained together, vertically positioned in the corner of my room with a little finesse. I do not trust them to stay connected if they were to topple over. I think that bending the mega bar, once chained, may result in permanent damage to the lightweight aluminum housing. Don't be dumb and clumsy, make sure you have a plan to mount these guys before you connect them and ruin your investment.

Absolutely Incredible!!!
I can not express how much I LOVE these lights!!! I planned to use two bars for each level of my cabinet but after testing it with one, I was blown away with how bright they are and with the 4 bars connected together, it does not get any less bright. It was super easy to connect them all together with the included cables. I used the magnetic feature and included adhesive metal plates to install them into my antique cabinet and I could not be more happy. It was so easy and it holds great. Also I am not worried about it damaging the antique cabinet. I accidently left them on one night and after being on for about 10 hours, I felt them to see the temperature of the lights. To my surprise they were not hot to the touch. I am using these to display my Uranium glass collection which it works perfectly for but I have tested some items that are florescent and they light up just as bright. I really like this product and wish I could give it even more then 5 stars. I 100% recommend this product and will be buying more here in the near future!

Better in almost every way.
Brighter, quieter and more efficient than my florescent version UV lights.I've had two florescent versions of the 2'length UV lights and they worked great for years. Then one died and the other still works but is faint. When I got these (4 pack of 2' lengths in white), I tested them and they are all much brighter and bring out much more color. They're so much more efficient that I only need one of them in a room vs two of the older style. However, the older style does look a little more classy and softer.Either way, I'm glad I tried these and would recommend them.

Great Lights at a Great Value, but Not Actually 48" Long
The 48" version of these lights are actually only 46" long, which isn't a big deal if you just want to use them for fluorescence and other general purposes, but it's something to consider if you plan to use them for exposing alternative process prints (which is what I use them for), screen-printing plates, etc. Your final coverage area will be slightly smaller if you mount them length-wise in a UV exposure unit setup as I did. Beyond this one caveat, though, they're great lights at a fair price. They come with several connection/daisychain options, including connectors that let you butt the fixtures end-to-end up to 8 in a row from a single power input (you could probably do more, but that would pull quite a bit of power through all of the fixtures, which might cause premature failure, so I wouldn't risk it), 4-foot cable connectors, and even just individual power connectors with inline on/off switches. Some have knocked the metal clips that come with these, but I found them to be fine for mounting to flat plywood. I don't think I'd trust the screws in drywall or on ceilings, though, since they're really short. Get longer screws if you want to mount them to such material or surfaces. They put out a lot more visible light than fluorescent blacklights, but my goodness do they ever put out a lot of light overall, including UV light. Each bar uses 22 watts, and since LEDs have about a 6:1 ratio of light per watt compared to incandescent, this is roughly equivalent to the light output of 132 watts of incandescent light per bar. That's pretty great. And, since the UV light these things produce is in the 395-400nm range, they're less dangerous than fluorescent blacklights (the purple kind), which put out mostly 365nm UV, which can still cause freckling and even mild burns at close range when a lot of them are used, as I do with my alternative process photography.I've included photos of the exposure unit I built using 16 of these bars to give others who might want to use them for this purpose an idea of how they can be set up. It's pretty easy, and much less bulky/heavy than using fluorescent tubes while also being much less prone to breaking, since there's no glass, only metal housings with durable plastic lenses and end caps.Overall, I give these lights a 4-star rating, dinging them 1 star only for their being 2" shorter than the advertised 48" length. Also, they ship in their factory box without any additional protection, so they can be bent and otherwise damaged pretty easily in transit. One of the four sets I ordered came bent like this, so I had to exchange it for another, but Amazon makes that very easy. This lack of extra protection is a shipping issue, though, not a product issue, so I didn't ding them for that.I highly recommend these both for fun and for more critical uses. They're easy to install and use, and their installation options and versatility are far superior to fluorescent fixtures while also taking up less space and weighing less.I'm highly satisfied with these lights.
