KomodoAspen Bed Terrain, 12 Litre

It comes in a sweet little bag that can be rolled back up again. Not dusty at all! I needed some additional bedding mix that was appropriate for my gerbils and this works perfectly. So not only does it advertise for reptiles, this works for rodents who love to burrow too! Would certainly recommend.

I read all the reviews before buying but ultimately i hadn't much choice as my local pet shop being pets at home only sells small bags for around the same price i wanted to give this a bash! the bag arrived not full no way to tell exactly how much was in it other than the fact it states "12l" on the bag. I cleaned out two 4x1.5x1.5 enclosures and refilled with just enough for my desert king and tessera corn to make some tunnels! barely enough although if using for one vivarium that size it's more than plenty or with a smaller enclosure you could fill it twice over with plenty extra! It looks like less than it is once you get it out and break it up it goes a long way so i have no complaints there i've been using aspen for snakes for years without problem i don't recommend it for lizards though especially bearded dragons please if you have lizards look into alternative options loose substrate isn't suitable for some of them and this is very loose however for snakes it's great and fairly easy to clean out. Didn't find it overly dusty comparing to pets at homes brand and i will see how they get on with it over time but i am happy with the purchase and i would recommend. If you want a bag packed full don't buy it but if you want enough to fill vivs the size i stated earlier or smaller infact even bigger one bag will do the trick.

Bought 2 as meant to be on offer. Clearly been tampered with and substrate removed before selling. Meant to be twelve litres. Barely 7 in each bag. Second reseal mark clear from heat sealed.Disgusted. I've had the exact same item from other retailers before so know how much is meant to be in there.

I have this product on subscribe and save for bedding for my tortoise. This bedding is so much better than any others I have tried to reduce smells, it makes spot cleaning easier as it dries out any messes making them quicker to pick out and my tortoise just gets on the best with this bedding. Before I subscribed to the product I read a few reviews where people stated they hadn’t been receiving full bags, please don’t let this put you off as it must of been a bad batch as you can see from my pictures, I have absolutely received the full 12L bag. Will continue to purchase this product and would recommend for most reptiles, especially snakes as it’s ideal for burrowing!

This claims to be 12 litres but I think that's rather optimistic, even when fluffed up a lot. Still, it's enough for a single filling of a 4ft x 1ft (120x34cm) viv to a depth of about 2.5cm (so I make that about 10 litres), which is sufficient for my 2 year old corn snake to burrow to her heart's content.It's not as dusty as the aspen bedding I've tried previously, and it's just about the cheapest option out there.I've tried a couple of different types of substrate; aspen isn't the prettiest but I do think it's the best for corn snakes as it's gentle on their skin when burrowing, lets their burrows hold their shape, and makes it easy to see poo for spot cleaning. The main disadvantage to it really is that it can dry the air, so keep an eye on humidity levels and give it a misting if necessary. I have a large water dish underneath the heat lamp and the evaporation from that seems to be sufficient to maintain decent humidity.
