Intex28051E Solar Cover Reel

Update: we’ve had this reel on the pool for a week over July 4th. We have used it several times to move the solar cover. It is terrific. Even had big kids rough housing and the reel hung on with all of the wobbling that happens when waves occur. I am so glad we have it. It’s worth the money and designed great. I crank about a quarter of the cover and straighten up the edges on the reel and repeat until I have a great roll on the reel. I use a couple of ropes to tie up the roll so our Frequent windy weather doesn’t catch it. The cover causes the water to temp to stay very warm. Too warm sometimes so I am removing the cover in the afternoon to let the water cool a bit. The hot water messes with the PH. Rashes occur. I need to keep putting in the Sodium Bicarbonate. You do lose about a foot of your pool to this but it’s worth it for the easy off and back on! Good product!

Game changer for a pool. Makes getting the cover off and on my Intex 32x16ft pool super easy and quick, like 2 mins and done for on or off. Don't think, just buy it.

The cover does it's job and wasn't too tricky to install. Only giving 4 stars because it came with a chunk broken, however thankfully it didn't affect the working of the cover,just tooks kind of tacky with the broken chunk missing.

I purchase this reel to use with a 12 x 24 solar cover (Intex). The reel works great. The only issue so far is that one of the clips no longer clips on the cover. I left the cover a little long so it doesn’t unwind to the clips, so it works great. The cover is heavy enough that it rolls very well on the reel without puckering. However, it takes two people to pull the cover over the pool. I haven’t tried it from inside the pool to see if I can cover it by myself. Overall, I am very pleased with it.

I am so glad I purchased this, as it helps me put on and take off the cover for my pool. It was very easy to install and I did it on my own- it tells you two people set up. I was so glad that it fit perfectly on my pool. There is also a locking button that can get pushed up, for unlock and down for lock, so the handle does not move when the wind is blowing; the cover does not come undone. When I go to pull the cover, I unlock it and then just pull on the cover. I don't have to use the handle to unwind it, it just follows my direction during the pulling iof the cover over the pool. If you are tired of fighting the cover to go on smoothly, I would recommend making this purchase.

This reel is a major improvement over the previous practice of just pulling off the solar cover and dropping it on the ground in a pile. I think it works great and was super easy to assemble and install on the above ground pool. I would definitely recommend this reel to keep your solar cover clean and your pool warmer and cleaner.

The reel itself works nice however the clips for the solar cover keep breaking. Two clips have broken so far and only used it 4 or 5 times.

The plastic clips tend to come apart that hlclups to the solar cover but other then that works awesome!
