Halo 5: Guardians (Xbox One)

Probably the weakest game in the Halo series, except for maybe ODST, though at least even that had split screen, which this does NOT have... The game plays well enough, but the campaign is way too short at 6 hours or less, and that's with a boss battle that's repeated no less than SIX times, and wandering around hub areas. Also, most of the campaign is not played as the Chief, the story is pretty weak and worst of all, the game does not have any kind of Split Screen, not for the campaign, and not for multiplayer, and this is unforgivable.. Its also weak on modes, and doesn't have the excellent Spartan Ops the last game had either..

Let's get the fantastic multiplayer out of the way first. If you play Halo for the story, you won't find much here, the campaign is a forgettable, short, repetitive mess, and even though you feel the voice talent doing their best to keep the ship together there's no saving this story. The visuals are fantastic and the multiplayer is a perfect and fun romp.

The first three Halos were absolutely brilliant, and I spent far too much of my childhood shooting aliens or my friends on those games. Sadly this one just isn’t up to the same standards. The storyline is poor, and they simply haven’t kept to the same principles that made the earlier ones so great

Halo 5 is a good a fun game. It continues the Halo series, but it does not feel as good and fun as previous Halo games. The campaign and multiplayer are both fun and enjoyable, but I cannot give it 5 stars as the previous Halo games are without a doubt much better games. That being said, this is still a good game. It is a must play for fans of the series and video game enthusiasts alike.

Terrible game, the worst in the franchise for me! It’s clear that the glory days of Bungie’s Halo are truly over. I will always play and treasure Halo 1-3 and Halo Reach but 4 was ok (just ok) and 5 dreadful!

I've played every Halo since the first and I have to say this is the least enjoyable, worse even than Halo 2. Solo campaign is short, many of the levels involve the same tedious gameplay on almost identical looking corridors/platforms - and lifts, so many lifts!! It's nice to look at but missing the soul of previous Halo games. The story/plotline is meaningless and impenetrable to anyone over the age of 14! I would struggle to recommend this.

First off the game itself is ok. Story isn't wholely engaging at all but some great visuals. However... It ia buggy. It crashes the xbox and then will not load the game. The fix is to lose all of your recent progress and go back to an old save. Can happen at random times. A real shame as there was potential here. And i have always been a halo fan. Will think twice id they bring out any more. Google bugs and you will see it over the web.
