Nothing else comes close
These are superb. They transform the speed and ease with which you can move your bikes. Once you get the knack (which is generally the second time you put the bike on the roof), you can be driving away in seconds. Once you've got the bike carriers on, you just don't want to take them off. We've now got four on the car, and the four different bikes fit no problem at all. The clamp has a huge range, so securely attaches anything from a tiny kid's balance bike with a thin tube up to bearing brackets on a chunky full suspension mountain bike. The range is vast and means that you can always ensure a secure fit. There's even a cable channel cut into the top and bottom of the clamp so that you can move cables off the frame (although I have to say to guarantee that there's no scratching, I still use a sponge or cloth). The wheel grips also cater for a huge range of different wheel sizes - I've yet too find one too chunky to fit. With all this versatility, it's still a doddle to use - the parts move freely and give easy access for tightening things up securely. The simplicity and solid design means it carries on working well for years (even if left on top of the car for long periods). These really have changed our approach to riding further away from home as it's such an easy job to put the bikes on the roof and drive away.Other plus points include the fact we no longer worry about mess, and cleaning the bikes before we move them. The locks are also a decent deterrent to opportunists, and work well in all conditions (although I probably wouldn't leave the bikes on the roof overnight).I would also say that compared to the price of the roof bars themselves, they are truly great value for such a practical design. I'd be lost without them now.

Brilliant carrier
You can see why the 591 proride is regarded as a premium product. It is robustly made and looks just great. It is supplied with all the fittings for square, aero and T track bars. The adjustment range on the clamping arm is adequate for the bikes in our household 1 x adult round tube, 1 x adult rectangular tube and 1 x kids rectangular tube. The clamping arm can also be switched to the opposite side so both bikes can face forwards but be loaded at different sides of the car.Additional update: If you do switch the clamping arm around you will find that the base of the carrier sits slightly forward on the roof bar and can cause an annoying whistle. If this happens to you try adding some duct tape or similar to the underside of the base to blank off the air gaps. this will get rid of any whistle.

Excellent
Very high quality racks, well made and sturdy. They are easy to fit onto Thule bars having slots, they slide in sideways from the end of the bars and clamp down to the bars with three over-centre clamps, one of which is lockable. As another reviewer mentioned, these are two separate racks not really a set of two, so they need two different keys which is mildly annoying. It is apparently possible (at a price) to rectify this, but I can not be bothered. Mounting a bike is relatively easy, depending on the weight of the bike, the height of the roof and your height and strength (like all roof mounted racks). If you don't think you can lift your bikes to the correct height with the lowest part of the wheel a little above the roof of your car, then obviously roof mounting is not for you. We bought a small folding stool to help with our lack of height. If you can lift your bike so that the wheels sits in the channel of the rack, then clamping it is a doddle. Before lifting the bike, you raise the clamping arm to approximately the right position. Once the bike is resting in the channel, it will lean on the clamping arm with the diagonal part of the frame in the jaws and you can easily hold it with one hand. Then you just turn the ratcheted knob near the bottom of the arm until the frame is gripped. We have had absolutely no problems with stability when loading or unloading. There are rubber straps for each wheel and the ratcheted knob locks to deter casual thieves. The parts where the wheels rest can be slid along the length of the rack to accommodate bikes of different wheelbases. As another reviewer has mentioned, security is not high, but I think that is probably true of most roof-mounted kit like racks and boxes. We previously has some cheapy Halfords racks and these are incomparably better (although at a significantly higher price).

Arguably Acceptable, Easily Excellent
Mad simple to install, you unpack, lift and click them onto the rackingYou want that bike of yours secure uptop and these benefit that in every possible wayIm a tall man so lifting these isnt a problem however if you are of the shorter variety then make friends with a taller person and get them in on the good timesPackaging is on point (thats good) the design of the product is equaly there and they provide a good numbers of alternate attachments to suit different roof bars up high on that vehicle of yoursLets hope this helps you make a good choice, ai was happy enough so share some thoughts

So far so good
After about 10 uses, the racks have proven to work well and are very easy to use, I'm very happy with this purchase. Other than the unexpected misalignment of the racks in the longitudinal direction on the car (resulting from flipping one of the arms), I've had no issues with the racks. Despite the misalignment looking less aesthetic, it ended up being a plus since the offset helps keep handle bars from hitting when two bikes are mounted side by side. Note that if purchased for OEM BMW crossbars, the Thule T-track Adapter 889-1 (sold separately) must be used, or custom washers could be made to fit the racks correctly into the T-track slots.
