Brilliant for my carvings
I don't leave many reviews but after reading some that gave a poor rating, I just wanted to say that for my purposes this is brilliant. I carve animals from jelutong wood. I finish them with gesso, then after final sanding they are painted with acrylic. Leave for 24 hours, then a coat of this. Then a second coat after another 24 hours. I can't fault it. Lovely glossy finish, hard, doesn't peel, no smell, easy to clean brush. Good price too.

Nice product
The media could not be loaded. I really like this polyurethane. It dried fast, clear, smooth and it has a lovely shine on it. I've used it on polymer clay and the result it's what I expected it. I will definitely buy it again.

Good
Small to cover alot of clay but very good, make sure to apply it thin, or it will dry white

Easy to Use - Faultless
Model making can be a bit tribal with people swearing by one brand or another. I mostly use Vallejo paints because they come packaged well in great dispensing bottles that avoid mess and preserve the paint or varnish. The added advantage is that being non flammable I can take them overseas when I fly to work. That being said I also use AK Interactive, Tamiya and Humbrol. Guess what? They all work.Still, my favourite is Vallejo who for me just seem to get it right. A huge range of high quality paint and varnishes of which this is another excellent one.Easy to apply either by brush or as I do with an airbrush suitably thinned using Vallejo thinners. It's water based so you can use water from the tap for this but I find that the actual thinners works a little better.Easy to clean up afterwards because its' water based and thus whatever you use to apply it can be washed out with water and dishwashing cleaner.Vallejo state that this new polyurethane varnish is tougher and UV resistant and I have no doubt that is the case. Overall a superb product.

but this seems to work fine, although I needed to dilute it to spray ...
Fairly new to scale modelling, but this seems to work fine, although I needed to dilute it to spray through a 0.3mm airbrush, and would not work with 0.2mm airbrush at all. In consequence needed several coats to get the desired effect, but odourless, easy to use, easy to clean and once properly dried is waterproof for ordinary purposes. Useful if placing large decals on matt painted areas (though then need the matt version to flat coat once more), and to provide a smooth surface for weathering techniques.

Water-based Varnish
Does the job of light varnish.

Stiffens loose joints superbly
So I don't use this varnish to actually varnish things, but instead it's deployed to help stiffen up loose/slack joints on Transformers action figures. For that, it does an excellent job - apply a few drops, work them into the loose joint for a bit, then leave for a while to dry. You end up with a sturdier figure that doesn't do the splits unless you want them to. Good stuff!
