This book was perfect for explaining to my 4-year-old niece about the passing of my dog. It provided a gentle way for her to ask questions and understand what had happened. I'm grateful I read it beforehand because it did bring tears, especially since it was shortly after losing my beloved pet.If you're looking for a resource to help explain loss in a positive and sensitive manner to young children, this book is highly recommended. It's heartfelt and provides a comforting approach to a difficult topic.

We recently said goodbye to our 14 year old dog, and this book did help our 3.5 year old ask questions and process losing her. Months later he still asks to read it and talks about our dog.
