This is the best tool I've ever bought. If you are working on your garden, landscaping, digging, etc., it is invaluable. My family and neighbours ask to borrow it all the time for heavy duty gardening jobs.It has helped dig out old fence posts concreted into the ground; smashed through concrete slabs; unearthed an entire rockery; dug up old paving; dug out hedges, small trees and other stubborn plants; and helped to dig up literally tons of compacted soil and clay.It will smash through almost anything, and if you need to dig large holes or compacted ground (especially clay) it makes life much easier simply by the action of spearing it into the ground, then pulling it down to crack large areas of the ground which can then be shovelled up without any effort. It has a pointed end which will go through concrete easily, and a chiselled end which helps push up earth or cause fractures in hard surfaces.

Got this to break up hard stony soil in the garden in the summer (when the soil was very dry).It has a blade at one end and a point at the other. I was able to wield it with 2 hands without too much effort.It worked really well, all I had to do was pierce the soil in several spots with the digging bar, swirl it around in a circle each time, and then I was able to dig out the soil with a spade. This would have been very difficult even with a fork.Mind you don't injure yourself when dropping it into the ground.Also used it as an excellent and strong lever when laying slabs to shift the slabs sideways in a controlled fashion.

With flint and clay, this makes digging holes so much easier. Good weight. Quite narrow - helps penetrating the earth. The chisel tip may not be sharp enough for roots so loses a star.

Excellent bit of kit, I was having real trouble removing a fence post which had been concreted in to the middle earth and back, well it appeared to be! I had been trying to dig around it, trying to use chisels and a sledge hammer but that just ended up with broken chisels... Then I made the right choice to buy this bit of kit, which with the pointed end and a bit of brute force I was able to break up the concrete and lever it out using the other side. Very versatile tool and saved on renting a jackhammer. Although if I was to do more than two posts I would still recommend a jackhammer tool. It has lost a bit of the paint coating as expected but still looks sharp. I was giving it some really strong force and it bent only very slightly, easily bent back by using it the other way. No problem at all.

Nicely weighted bar, just enough weight to be able to use it efficiently but with enough wight to do some serious damage when hitting things!I have used this bar for a numbers of jobs:1) breaking rocks2) digging holes for posts3) as a lever for moving heavy objects4) accurately breaking old cement off concrete blocksIts uses are endless. Once you have one in the shed you will never be without it and at this price there is no reason why you shouldn't have one!

This item arrived in very good time, and is just what I have been looking for. The hardened dig bar is excellent for what I wanted - it makes short work for doing any digging work where you come to stones/ bricks etc, in the ground; just dropping this bar on them breaks them straight away. I have dug out fence posts many times now, & I wish I had bought one of these before - they would have saved me a great deal of time & effort. They are also brilliant for digging & levering out tree/bush stumps & roots. It fully deserves 5 stars!
