I got this Remington Shine Therapy Straightener / Styler on offer, so it was a bargain. I’ve used GHDs since 2002, having tried pretty much every model since it started. My current GHD is the platinum + model, and I have also tried their newest model, the Chronos, but I can honestly say that this Remington Shine Therapy straightener works better on my hair, straightening and curling it more quickly.I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane.I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with.When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler.It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look.There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed.If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not.The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great.I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market.Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this :)Edit: May 2025. It’s almost 11 months since I purchased this and I still stand by how amazing it is. The condition of my hair is the best it’s ever been. I don’t need to re straighten or wave my hair every day like I did with my GHDs; it stays straight or wavy (however I have styled it) until it’s washed again. And the condition of my hair after washing and drying is much better than it’s ever been. My hairdresser has noticed a huge improvement in my hair too.

My ghds finally died after about 8 years and I couldn't afford the £300 to replace them so I decided on these because of the affordability, argan infused plates and the ratings.I'm really pleased with them. They are a little wider than the skinny ghds so it's taking me a minute to get used to feel of them but they glide through my hair beautifully (the ghds used to sometimes stick a bit), they create beautiful curls that really hold and they heat up super fast and I love that you don't need them to be really hot to create the waves or lovely straight hair.I definitely recommend them

Bought these after my GHDs died a death and I couldn’t justify paying £200+ for new ones. They work really well & are perfect for the price point. The only downside is they take a while to heat up, especially if you’re used to how quick GHDs are. Other than that, I can’t fault them. Also like how you can pick temperate unlike GHDs which are one temp only. Would buy again perfect for the price point!

I was slightly sceptical as I've only used GHD'S. My Ghd's had given up after 10 years. These Remington shine therapy straighteners are fantastic! My hair was so shiny and smooth which lasted all day. My hair can get quite frizzy but these tame that frizziness. Easy to hold, no pressing the on/off button by mistake.Definitely recommend and for the price they are excellent and well worth the purchase.

The hair straightener is great, and the price was even better. I seen the same one in both Boots and Tesco for approx. 70-100 euro. I bought this for approx 28euro. however, do be careful as a number of weeks after I purchased it they did say it was marked down to the same price I bought it for from 130euro as a 'Black Friday' deal. but i assume that is more Amazon than anything. Other than that it is a great straightener and would buy again if needed to.

Very happy with this. Ordered because my GHDs broke after many years of use. I'm surprised at how good these are considering the low price. I have indian hair. My hair is super sleek and shiny after using these straighteners.

I wanted a nice easy to use straightener that wasn't too expensive as I'm normally fairly basic with my hair styling. These fit the bill and I absolutely love them. They heat up quickly, are easy to set the desired temperature and leave my hair feeling silky and lovely. My colleagues have been asking if I've been at the hairdresser as my looks so good.
