The original and best
I hesitated for a long time before buying this product. I had previously bought another, cheaper gel plate and had no success with it at all; and I didn't want to throw good money after bad. But in the end I bit the bullet and paid for a proper Gelli plate, and I'm so glad I did. Within minutes of unpacking it I was pulling my first (beautiful) print. I tried it with a variety of cheap acrylic paints and it worked just fine. It works well with stencils (which the other plate just couldn't cope with) and I even managed to pull a successful magazine transfer print. It cleans easily with baby wipes and can be stored in the packaging it arrived in. I am sitting here typing this with hands covered in paint but very happy with what I've achieved.Other, cheaper plates are much thinner and more rigid, which makes them unsuitable for use with acrylic paint, and it's virtually impossible to get a decent print. Don't be tempted to buy a cheaper one; buy an original Gelli Plate and you'll have hours of fun with it. Buy cheap, buy twice, they say; and when it comes to gel plates that's certainly true.

Great fun!
When I saw what could be done with a gelli plate, I knew I had to get one. It's really easy to use; literally just spread paint on with a brayer, add some texture with stamps, stencils, bubblewrap or something similar and lay a sheet of paper on top. That's it! You can produce loads of unique designs in minutes. My only slight problem is the price. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but on the other hand, I felt it was worth paying for what you can do with it.

A brilliant addition to my printing
I first saw this on Hilary Beattie's blog. (she's a quilter extrodinaire) I ordered one straight away and was blown away by how versatile it is. It has transformed my mono printing. It is so easy to use multiple colours, to add print blocks, wild shapes of my own and everything in between. Expensive but really worth it. By the way if you have not thought of it yet, when you take colour off the plate with a printing block, print that off onto another piece of paper and you have even more prints. I love that I can use every morsel of paint by taking off multiple prints from the plate and then over printing the paler ones.

Gelli good fun
Where do i start....mmm....if you love mixed media art (or just making a mess) then you are most definitely going to want one of these! The fun we had lasted hours and my mum is not in the least bit arty and she not only had a blast she felt as though she could achieve something great, so a win win. We now have one each and make a big old mess every day, tried using it with foliage from the garden and the results were awesome. You wont be sorry if you invest in one of these. Happy Gelliplating😀

This pad is good but it is only the start
This pad is good but it is only the start. One needs the inks, rollers and time to explore different effects. I would have hoped for a page or two to launch those new to this medium, and perhaps reference to an accompanying package to save having to buy in a hugger-mugger fashion.

Easy & fun to use. Brilliant!
Brilliant. Really beats monoprinting on glass/Perspex because it can pick up extra details due to the natural give in the surface. I’ve had so much fun monoprinting with this - loads of videos on YouTube to give you ideas. I’d definitely recommend it.

Excellent product, if you have lower ability students who are struggling with other forms of printmaking this is a great way to get them started. I used a variety of textures from packaging and also flowers to create a series of prints. I use poster paint as you can get a range of colours and it is not as thick as printing inks or acrylic. Linda Germain is good artist to link this too.

A brilliant printing alternative without a need for a press.
The Gellie plate is brilliant. It opens up a whole new avenue of printing design. I have experimented with different paper types and thicknesses and impressed a plethora of textures. Amazing results as you layer colours and textures. The papers can then be used for collage, journals altered books etc. Wipes clean easily but leave the residue on and it lifts off on the next print to create amazing colour and textured backgrounds. I love this plate and can't stop experimenting.
