Mine is a blueish thick form. I bought mine from an Asian lady who has very long hair. I had asked what her secret. She advised I stick about 30ml in the microwave for a few seconds and then apply on your scalp then message on your scalp after for about 4 minutes.

I just used to moisturise my hair and then I washed it as normal I do. Shampoo and conditioner. I have curly hair I must have a leave in. Works fine to me.
