Brilliant for
Awesome tool. I was skeptical at first not knowing the brand, and seeing other ones at 3-4x the price. I wanted this exact kind of tool as I needed to cut 4 window holes in my van. These are recommended instead of an angle grinder or jigsaw because of how clean they cut and how little dust they create, which can stick to metal surfaces and rust. This tool goes through van steel like butter and leaves a really clean cut.Now I don't know what do with it. I just want to cut up the rest of my van for fun.

Nifty bit of kit
I've used this on 1.5mm stainless, 2mm steel & 1.5mm aluminium - all cut easily. The tool takes a little practice to be effective and it is ESSENTIAL to set it up as the instructions say. Too small a gap risks shattering the cutters and too big a gap tears the metal being cut.The on/off switch, though, is an absolute pain, extremely difficult to switch 'on' and far too easy to cancel. The spring in it is too strong and the latch to hold it on far too sensitive. I shall look at a mod once the warranty period is over - a lighter spring, perhaps.Other than that, a value tool for cutting sheet metal.Nice that is comes with spare brushes for the motor and a pair of spare cutter blades. I bought extra because of the chance that they'll no longer be available when I need them. It does look, though, as if the cutters are re-sharpenable - that remains an experiment.

Easy to use and glides through copper sheet!
I was tired of battling tin-snips to cut through copper sheet for enamelling projects so this cutter looked interesting. I did think about the snips you insert into a drill chuck but thought manoeuvring a drill might be more cumbersome. The Merry tools electric shears come nicely boxed and look very sturdy - only slight negative is that for small hands it is quite large to hold - That aside I am extremely happy with this tool as it glides through the copper sheet and give wonderfully smooth edges and with a little practice it's much easier to get a nice straight edge. Also can do curves but nothing too tight unless done in stages. Little noisy but as it save on achy hands using tin snips and files I'm happy!Would totally recommend.

Great for cutting van windows
The media could not be loaded. Good value for money. Well built and reassuringly weighted. Cut through the tin on my van with ease. a little tricky around the corners due to the real of the tool hitting the inside pillar of the van.

Not as robust as I had hoped.
I have cut about 1.5 meters of steel with this,it does cut brilliantly but already the brushes are starting to burn out you can here the motor arcing so really not fit for purpose, I would have returned it but have been away on a two week cruise so am outside the returns window.

100322 Sheet Metal Shears - WHAT A FANTASTIC TOOL
I bought this tool last year. Didn't expect much as it was at a super bargain price on Amazon.Boy was I wrong. It's well made, super robust, super tough cutting blades AND dead easy to use.I'm a fabricator of all kinds of parts. Sheet steel up to 2mm suits me as its easy to form into allkinds of shapes.I would recommend a bit of practice before you use it for the first time. You will find out its limitations. To be honest, I was amazed at how easy it sails through 1mm or 2mm sheet steel. It will cut straight asan arrow. Curves must be gradual BUT with practice you can cut some amazing curves. The thing that impressed me was its accuracy. It doesn't wander off or crab like CHEAP nibblers. You get a spare set of blades, adjuster key and lubricating oil.I've used this a lot over the last year with the confidence it won't break down because it was cheap. It's the quality build that gives me that confidence.5 STARS FROM ME - FANTASTIC TOOL AND WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY

Handy little tool.
First impressions are that this is louder and more powerful than I thought. It's also quite heavy and robust like my angle grinder, not cheaply made at all, and so much easier to cut sheet metal with than tin snips. Wish I'd bought a long time ago. You can go in a straight line and it leaves a much nicer, cleaner edge than serrated edges you get from aviation snips, and it's effortless on 1mm. Haven't tried thicker yet but I'm sure it can handle as it plowed through the 1mm like it was nothing. I was also able to twist it into some tight angles to get curved cuts, by tilting the tool. It's not as precise as manual snips so I'll still maybe use them as a finishing tool on more precise cuts that are needed, but not bad for a first attempt.I didn't rate higher because the bad translation of Chinese instructions were impossible to make sense of. Apparently you are supposed to use the allen key to adjust the gap to 20-40% of the material, whatever that means. There are 3 allen keys and I've no idea what they're for.Oh and the carry case is pretty nice quality too, and the tool refreshingly fits inside easily without fighting it because the plug won't squeeze in, so I will be keeping it in this.

Electric Metal Shears
Will cut thin sheet metal without difficulty. Sheet metal 1mm or more thick it has difficulty with.
