QTX 4.5" Replacement Silk Dome Tweeter

I needed a replacement for a blown tweeter on a vintage Wharfedale 507/2 speaker but could not find the right one online. Took a punt on these hoping they'd fit and was pleasantly surprised to find they are an exact fit. I bought a pair even though I only needed one as mismatched tweeters are not good for sound quality.They are very good tweeters and sound as good if not better than the originals. These speakers were considered quite high end when new so to find modern tweeters so cheaply that sound perfect is a major win.I am quite fussy about sound quality but I am delighted with these tweeters. Very well made and amazing value for money.If you're considering buying these, just do it. When you see them you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality.Thank heavens for Amazon.

I bought this to replace a dead tweeter on a KEF Cantor II speaker. The fit is perfect and it looks similar. The sound is better than the original tweeter on the other speaker which is still working so I've replaced that too.If you need tweeters don't be put off by the low price. These are great for your average music listener. Maybe an audiophile would be critical of them.

Good for the price

Bought a couple of these QTX tweeters to build a set of bookshelf speakers for my son. They were matched with some old Wharfedale mid/bass drivers and give a really good account of themselves.Definitely more sensitive than the old Wharfedale units, so do check that they will pair well with whatever you plan to build/replace. Works out quite well for me because they are a little lighter on the bass side. Overall though, massively impressed with the quality of the high frequencies coming out of these units for such a modest price.

I noticed someone had used these to replace tweeters on a vintage pair of Kef Concord speakers and had really good results from it.I replaced my tweeters on my Kef Celeste IV from the same era, early 1980's.Like the other buyer stated, these sound even better than the original tweeters. They must just be a really good match somehow?For the price and performance of these with these speakers, you should look no further.They have improved the overall sound quality considerably.I nearly payed x3 the amount for other tweeters and so glad I didn't. Don't be mislead from all the audiophile jargon other buyers will use to make you pay more.

I had a blown tweeter in one of my vintage speakers. I did replace the voice coil and it worked OK but in truth the sound from this replacement 'budget' unit is superior. I've decided to replace both so with a minor bit of cabinet surgery I've effected a decent upgrade for very little money. Makes you think about the price of some modern speakers and whether they're really worth it.

Bought to try as a cheap replacement tweeter for an old passive Tannoy Reveal monitor. It doesn't fit - the 3 screw holes on the new tweeter don't align with the Tannoy plastic baffle ones, so ended up surface-mounting the whole assembly over the existing hole just to see how it sounds. Looks terible (my handywork, not the new tweeter) but you know what, it sounds great - no significance difference in the top end or overall sound to the other speaker which has its original tweeter. So at this price, very happy.
