Easy to use
A little rattling when closed, means this item looses a star. Easy to use. Sharpened two knives so far, and seems to be solid enough to keep on.

The only way I could sharpen my bread knife
I didn't know these existed up until buying this one. I though my knife would need to be replaced. This file works well but you do need to practice as it's not as simple as it looks. Time and watching some YouTube videos then you'll get to grips with it. I'm not too keen on the folding handle design but it does help with storage.

Excellent sharpener!
Excellent sharpener! Used for sharpening small blades on my penknife and leaves a sharp edge.

Too expensive and poor quality
Disappointing. Before I got half way of sharpening my bread knife, all the diamond coating had disappeared. If anything half was sharpened OK, the other half was not. Far too expensive for the quality that delivers.

Does not work - buy Sharpal Transforman instead
Have tried this on numerous occasions to sharpen small Victorinox serrated kitchen knives but it just does not work - gave up and ordered Transforman Diamond Round & Tapered Rod Sharpener instead. The difference is unbelievable - one or two strokes of the Transforman resulted in a sharpening that would never be achieved with this product - you can feel the difference in texture between the two sharpeners before you put them anywhere near a knife. Don’t know if this is because the Transforman is described as “Fine” whereas the DMT is Extra Fine but they are only small kitchen knives so I would have thought Extra Fine would have worked but unfortunately not !!!!
