Really handy tool for drilling out the hole for the latch barrell but the door handle spindle hole cutter is far too big and does not line up for uk door latch assemblies.That said I still found it good for the barrell drilling element

Generally good template. I've used this on a few doors and have been pleased with the results. The kit works well but could be cheaper if unnecessary drill bits and hole cutter were not included. Especially as hole cutter arbor is low quality and it is difficult to remove blade when used.

Struggled for many years to fit door locks with varying levels of success ( with or without additional repairs/replacements) !I saw this kit on a youtube video.. this makes the process simple, quick. I fitted deadbolts to 5 doors very quickly and with minimal mess. Also recommend the companion tool for cutting the door jam face plates.. comes with all parts. It really is a time and effort saver.. if you use it more than once it will pay for itself over and over.

Okay, firstly the comments on here regarding the difficulty removing the hole cutter from the pilot is an easy fix. Before the cutter gets hot (you will smell it) stop and just loosen the hole saw. You just need it finger tights as the saw will try and tighten as you drill. As slong as you take reasonable breaks and don't drill the holes in one go; it works fine.Dont like me ignore the instructions and wonder why the last few mm of the hole take an age to drill (2 1/8) its because you have to drill from both sides. This avoids tearing the laminate or finish on the back of the door.Apart from that, given the price I would say it is an absolute bargain.

Does what it says. Not the sturdiest but it is easy to set and use and paid for itself after 2 doors of my 18 to be installed. Well worth the money if you have a number to be installed as a one off compared to other more expensive options.

A brilliant idea and I took some time to consider. I have 11 doors to refit so took the plunge. My doors are UK standard Travis Perkins Internal Moulded 6 Panel Grained Door 1981 mm x 762 mm x 35mm.It's an ideal tool for positioning the door catch for an existing door frame, and the narrow setting (1-3/8in) positions the catch exactly in the middle of the frame of the 35mm thick door. The 1in (25mm) hole saw nicely cuts the hole for the tubular catch and it's a nice touch to have include a 1in woodworking bit to dig the extra depth.Not so useful is the inability to set the backset to a standard 57mm. Only two backsets are available 2-3/4in and 2-3/8in. 57mm backset equates to 2-1/4in. Also not so useful is the jig and holesaw for cutting the cross hole. The only option is a 2-1/8in diameter hole. My handles have a rose which would disappear through that. The other included drills and screwdriver bits are not useful as I already have these in my toolkit.I've ended up making a new template to cut the cross hole.I have found the ability to position the catch into an existing keep just about worth the money. If I were cutting into a completely new frame then this would be of no help at all.In short, I wouldn't buy again, or recommend this to a UK user.
