Certainly whitens icing
I was sceptical about using this product; but it really does whiten icing. I used it this evening to whiten buttercream icing for Christmas cupcakes; (Sorry I can't show you a picture, but I'm absolutely hopeless with that side of technology); and it really did change the buttercream from a pale yellow to white. I did beat the icing sugar, butter, vanilla extract and the whitening powder for about 4-5 minutes; and I was very pleased with the results. My only slight complaint is that there are no instructions for how much of this powder to use, so you have to make an educated guess. I used half a teaspoon. I don't know if that is too much or not enough, but the results were good.

Great product
This worked so well, I used the trick of adding a bit of violet to the buttercream too and this just added to make it such a wonderful brilliant white colour. Can’t wait to use to make my wedding cake. Would definitely recommend.

It does work!!
After reading the reviews I decided to give this a go. To start off it works!!Now for the info: as you can see from my pictures top right is how the white icing come out after my test batch - it looked like icing cream :)!Looking at the picture top left it does not look white in the bowl more of an off white/cream colour. This is what I used to pipe top right and look how white it came out - I can’t complain. The middle left is the butter cream before adding the white now as this was a test batch and had 150 still to bake I only used a little bit (a little was a teaspoon full). As you can see the bottle is not large. When it came to making the cakes for the event I had to use a lot as my icing was more then the test batch. Happy with the result but I was adding glitter. The glitter showed up brilliantly on the white. When making the white again (I will be using again, I was that impressed) I would probably making small batches of icing at a time I feel the white power will go further. I will update when I use again.Happy baking :)

Fantastic product, bought to whiten buttercream and worked brilliantly
Fantastic product, bought to whiten buttercream and worked brilliantly. I would suggest gradually adding the product however as i had to mix in some water when i over added as it changed the consistency of the buttercream. It was not a problem though, a few drops of water and the consistency was back. Really good product and fantastic value for money. Would recommend!

Absolutely brilliant!
This stuff is amazing! I had to turn flash on my camera to get a good photo, so in real life it's not so drastic, but the difference in colour between the before (right) and after (left) is amazing! Paired with clear vanilla extract you can get almost white buttercream easily! I did need to use half the pot but I make over 2kg of icing so that's completely understandable. 5/5, definitely ordering again!

It's ok!
It's ok, didn't make a huge difference to my white chocolate ganache and I ended up using the whole tub! It looked better though so did help.

Made my buttercream a lovely white!
Perfect for a wedding cake, this allowed me to get a nice white. Only downside is you need to use quite a lot and the pot is quite small.

Works
I was very happy with how this turned out, about half of the powder was enough to dye buttercream covering a 5 layer 6 inch cake. For those experiencing grainy mix using this, sift the powder as you would flour or icing sugar and it'll be fine. I would definitely buy this again.
