Proven, long-lasting, fair value....
One of these batteries came with the my Nikon D700. I then quickly bought another as one was soon not enough to last a whole weekend's pro shooting. I then also got a S/H Nikon D200, which also takes these and did exactly the same, again. The grip I use with the D700 takes one to extend the life of the one in the camera and that'll cover any shoot, however long or energy-thirsty.So, in light of the above, I think I can safely say that I'm familiar and happy with the En-El3A. The price on Amazon means I didn't need to look (at least seriously) at cheaper generics and so I've never had to worry about compatibility or potential damage. One thing I should say is, though - the oldest battery/ies, though still in use and still keep their charge well, their contacts have become slightly pitted and clouded. This resulted, very worryingly, in a dead-battery symbol on the camera, when I was sure it was charged. All it required was some wire wool or other abrasive material to cut through this and it's back, as good as new.

Great quality battery (sold/supplied by amazon)
Needed a new spare battery for a Nikon D90 as sadly, my compatibles have proved to have a considerably shorter life than my original, which is now 4 years old and perfect. I was worried about stories of fakes so I bought from Amazon themselves. The battery is a beautiful example of a genuine Nikon battery, comes with the protective cover for the contacts to keep them in good condition and in an original Nikon box.The battery itself is exactly as I wanted, far superior to compatibles both in how many photos it can take (far over the 1,000 I've seen quoted for me) and I expect it to last as long as the one supplied with my camera. Highly recommended to buy!

Nikon Battery
Being nearly 50 years old I come from a generation for whom batterys never lasted very long, in particular rechargeables, (I can't believe that I carried a pocket full of spare batterys for my first mobile phones!), so it never ceases to amaze me how long modern batterys last for on a single charge, I know that modern equipment helps by consuming less power, but the technology has really come on.These are no exception, they are almost 'fit and forget!' when I go out to take pictures with my Nikon D80 I am clicking away all day long, never really taken much notice of exactly how much I can get out of one, but if I go on a weeks holiday and use my camera daily, quite often I never have to change the battery, so I probably get 2000+ pictures a charge?Like most modern rechargeables the 'memory affect' is a thing of the past, gone are the days when you would ruin a battery if you dared to charge it before it was totally discharged! Both my batterys are around three years old, the D80 they power has taken nearly 30000 pictures, they all are still going strong.I always use Nikon accessorys with my Nikon camera, mostly just for peace of mind, batterys are no exception to this.Recently upgraded to a D7000 and the Nikon batterys for that last just as well.

Genuine Nikon EN-EL3e Battery for D90
I hesitated about buying a second battery for my D90, should I buy a compatible or genuine? The price difference is significant. Also how do you know what is a genuine Nikon battery and what is a copy? After much deliberation and research I settled for a Genuine Nikon battery from "Brainstorms", based on the price and their 100% feedback rating. Not quite the cheapest on Amazon marketplace, but nearly! The battery arrived well packaged and very quickly using Amazon's free economy delivery. It looks like the genuine article and works ok in the camera, I have not used it significantly yet so can not compare with my original battery. Battery meter shows it as new so fingers crossed!

Having bought an off-the-shelf camera battery before, one that let me down after the first re-charge I was dubious about the reliability of this one. But it's a Nikon battery, and it has so far, lived up to the Nikon brand quality. It has had some heavy use since purchase and has performed admirably, but I can't answer for it's longivety yet.

Spare Power
Even though the longevetiy of these batteries are good, if going to as cold climate, useful to have a spare.

Fantastic Value for genuine Nikon product
I couldn't believe it when I saw this battery advertised by Amazon at such a good price. Must admit I was a bit sceptical as to whether or not is was the genuine article. I had previously bought an independent make battery from another source for my D700 and it was twice this price. However upon close examination this does appear to be a genuine Nikon product. If you need a spare battery for your Nikon camera, then don't hesitate. This is fantastic value for money for a Nikon battery. I have made a few Nikon user friends aware of this offer. Even if you don't need a spare you should still be tempted to buy one at this price. You simply can't go wrong.

Expensive but VEEEEEERY worth it!
As I have recently set up a wedding photography business with a friend of mine, it was pertinent of me to order a spare battery.I charged it up once in time for a wedding, which we shot yesterday. I shot 502 photos yesterday using my D90 Nikon D90 Body Onlyand only lost 1 bar on the battery indicator! Please note that I was using an SB-400 Nikon Speedlight SB-400 External Flash the whole time, which means that the flash doesn't drain the main camera battery as the SB-400 uses 2xAA batteries for its power. However, i was also using a Sigma OS lens Sigma DC 3,5-6,3/18-200 OS HSM for Nikon and I had the Optical Stabilisation on for most of the day and that DOES use the camera battery to work.So in summary, to shoot 502 photos, with OS on and only lose 1 bar off the battery - means buying original Nikon is exceedingly worth it!
