Backpack is great - straps and hose could be better (still decent).
The water pack itself is fantastic, very life-like for a little boy to use (my nephew loves it). The straps could be better in my opinion and they could do with more adjustment as he is quite small and I've had to put a velcro strap between the two shoulder straps at the front to keep it on - I think it would be better with plastic clasps and an extra belt strap with a clasp - then it would be perfect. Its excellent quality other than that - the hose is pretty good but a bit stiff to start with which makes me think it might kink at some point and make it not work as well - something more rubber-like would be better, but it works fine. I think I will replace the hose myself with something more flexible/rubbery.They should do a premium version of this - which I would be very happy to buy and pay a little extra for with those minor things fitted. Little boys that are into fireman stuff will love this - my nephew thinks it's brill.

Gets lots more use than other more expensive outdoor toys I have purchased so worth it.
I paid just over £12 which I felt was quite a lot for what it is, but my 4 year old is fireman-mad and was made- up with it when it arrived so I feel it has been worth it. It does dribble a little water but for a toy, it is quite well made and it does squirt really well (although I do have to remind him not to point it towards the neighbour's garden as it is quite capable of getting over the fence and drenching whoever it reaches!!). I have had to re-fill more frequently than I had hoped but then my son does use it non-stop when he does have it. Easy to use and quite a unique product from what I can see. It is getting used a lot more than other 'outdoor' toys I have purchased such as swing-ball type games that cost a lot more so I guess worth it when you think of it like that.

Great idea
Fab toy for a 5 year old boy which he chose himself online - I'm glad we checked the website as this toy is a cracking idea for a fireman obsessed child. Pump action incredibly easy to use and goes a good distance. Thumbs up from mum and dad too as its great way to get the car and windows washed and the plants watered! Only downside is it drips a little bit down the back as it's hard to get the hose in tight, however my son wears his waterproof trousers anyway for 'wet' play so no harm done.

A bit disappointed
I thought this a good idea but the hose does not fit very well and water leaks out very easily. Squirt distance is very good.

Note about packaging
The description says 'Item arrives in packaging that reveals what's inside'. This is code for it arrives just in the product box with a sticker on it, and will probably be damaged and unsuitable as a gift. Order the extra packaging if you want it for a present. I had not noticed this statement which appears on the right of your screen.

Once we managed to connect the tube it was fab ...
Once we managed to connect the tube it was fab. However the connection was a bit of a nightmare and we had an impatient 3 year old wanting it fixed, our tip would be to warm the end of the tube with a lighter etc (not melt) which will give it a bit more give when trying to fit it all together.

Fireman hose review
I have to admit we haven't had the weather to try this with water outside yet but my son loves just having this strapped to his back putting out imaginary fires round the house. It's well made and reasonable value for money. The only complaint I have is that the little strap that holds the hose to the main unit when not in use is fairly useless and isn't independently attached to the unit and is, therefore, easily lost.
