Great Tyres, Last years and very puncture resistant
These tyres really are great, I put a set on my last bike and they outlasted it! I put the same set on my new bike as the tyres that came with it weren't puncture resistant. I've done around 5000 miles on these commuting to work over the past 4 years and think I had 1 flat in that time. Only leaving a review now as my rear tyre has finally split, so came back to order another set. Can't fault these at all, they are a pain to fit and might cost more than a standard tyre, but they work really well and last years.

Can't say better than that
I've done about 1000 miles on these on London roads, so far no punctures. Can't say better than that.I've ridden over glass when sleepy on a Monday morning and they've taken them in their stride. They're tough to get on, after doing my best to get them on by hand I had to use a tyre lever, so watch out you don't puncture the inner tube if you do that, and make sure you've got some kind of lever to get them on or risk walking home.Nice to have 23mm tyres with decent treads too. I'm used to having to go up to 25s or 28s, but these grip the road well even in oily conditions.

Better be good at preventing punctures - wouldn’t want to take these off too often
I bought these to replace the standard tyres on my budget Carrera road bike. As with most things with a preventative purpose, it’s hard to review as it relies on something NOT happening and for it NOT to happen for long enough to conclude it’s not just down to luck. However, they do look tougher than the tyres I replaced so I’m hopeful. They look smart with their reflective stripe and I like the tread pattern. They are hard to put on - maybe it gets easier if you do it a lot - but I wouldn’t want to do it out in the field, so I hope they are effective at preventing punctures. There’s quite a useful video from SpaCycles on fitting Marathon Plus tyres - it’s a helpful guide but I doubt for most of us it goes as smoothly as shown. It wasn’t pretty or quick when I did it! These tyres are directional and the rotation direction marking is quite small - be sure to check as you really wouldn’t want to have to take them off again. I can see why people are saying they broke tyre levers - I made some use of plastic tyre levers and was fine but it would be easy to overdo the pressure and snap one

Slippery when new or maybe I just put them on the wrong way round.
I had my first bike crash in over 10 years on these tires. I leaned in, ready for the side of the tire to dig and and oh no... skittering sound and the front wheel vanished. I ended up very bruised, shaken and in a lot of pain for over a week.I noticed that I had accidentally put both tires on backwards as these are directional. The tires had covered about 25miles. The rear had had a nasty feeling of slipping when going over certain bits of cycle path too when wet and they just didn't seem to feel all that 'safe'.So, I switched them the right way round when I noticed my mistake and am still upright. These tires are hard to get on and off. For me, 2 or 3 tire levers are must and you have to really get the bead pushed into the rim to avoid and bulges. Make sure the bead of the tire is set in the rim properly before inflating. My basic plastic levers did the job of getting the tire on. Getting them off is equally as tough, but have patience. After a few tries it doesn't take that long. The silver band on the tire is reflective. With the tires now on the right way I inflated them to 110psi. I took them out for mixed route over the usual 'slippery' cycle path bits, tree roots, gravel & light wet mud, normal wet road sections the tires gripped OK. Later I hit some glass twice on the same ride. I've hit several bits of glass since owning them and they've not punctured yet. My old slicks would have been ripped a few times. They don't ruin bike handling and while I don't commute through as many surface conditions as described daily it's good to know I have a little more versatility with the bike now. Mainly puncture protection is essential. It's not fun ripping a tire.I've read that roughing the tires up with some light sand paper may help get rid of any leftover manufacturing gunk and hopefully soon I'll be able to trust the outside of the tire to hold on to the road.I quite like them for their price vs performance. I needed a tire that is resistant to punctures and tire rips for the daily commute. I'd buy another set for sure. Just wear them in a bit before going full send on them.

Durable, Rarely puncture
Originally bought these as winter tyres but used all year round since Oct 19' to Feb 23' on a 5 mile round trip commute 3 to 4 days a week and should have changed them before I had a skid and came off last week. Rarely puncture and just bought a new pair.

Difficult to fit and impossible to get off.
Not sure how good these are but I found them extremely difficult to get on the wheel. I snapped two tyre leavers in the process and managed to puncture an inner tube getting one of them on. They now seem to be almost impossible to get off. I definitely wouldn’t want to try at the side of a road. I will be buying some replacements.
