A Tiny Knife for Hobby
This hunting knife by Blade Runner comes in a nice black package. My first impression when opening the package is its nice quality, but certainly not a tactical knife of sort. The blade is only 3.5 inches and 6.5 inches overall length. When I inspected the knife I got, these are the things I like. The design is very simple from the handle to the tip of the knife. The blade is made of sturdy steel, but not necessarily razor sharp. The plastic casing is not slippery and the color tone is like a brown-combat knife style. However, the grip on the knife is not ergonomically strong because you can only hold the knife with your three fingers and your thumb. Remember, the blade is 3.5 inches short and that leaves you with just 2.5 inches for the handle. That’s what I dislike about the product. It’s very small.I also noticed that the style of carrying the knife is made like a necklace, with the steel ball chain and the sharp end of the blade or the small handle pointing at your neck. When I wore it, I realized. You must be truly careful not to trip face forward or if an accident will happen, having this dangling knife on your neck is very risky, indeed. Overall, I’m giving this product just a middle-score rating.

Not quite what you might think - 4 stars within limits
The "Blade Runner Survival Hunting Knife" is not quite what you might think. First, be aware that the entire knife is 6 inches (15 cm), not just the blade. This makes it unsuitable for "survival" and "hunting" most of the time. If survival for you is slicing cheese and pepperoni, or if you are hunting squirrels, chances are that this knife will be adequate. That being said, for the price this is not a horrible knife. It is sharp and certainly could have daily uses (I used it first to open mail and break down some boxes). It's a good inexpensive choice for those types of uses. I can think of a number of other knives that would be better suited for "survival" and "hunting" within or slightly above this price point. It would also make a good gift for the right person. For example, it is a pretty good representation of the USMC Ka-Bar fixed blade knife and so it might make a good commemorative for a veteran. I'm sure you can think of others. All in all, the "Blade Runner Survival Hunting Knife" has it's place. Just don't expect it to be more than it is.

Smaller than expected
I must not have read the info right because this is WAY smaller than I thought it would be. It’s like a toy size. It arrived on time but I was very surprised what I saw. Tiny little thing on a chain.

Contrary to what some believe, size DOES matter.
Ok, right from the go, when they say 6 inches they mean the entire length of the knife, not just the blade. That means the knife, in its entirety, is the length of a dollar bill. The blade seems nice enough, but most people who own knives own a lot of them and this one won't find a home anywhere but as a letter opener or a clothes tag cutter. I won't even get into the possible copyright infringement of the 'Blade Runner' branding which is the same lettering used in the movie. I wouldn't advise using this knife for any meaningful work as many of you won't even be able to grip it securely and it is very unlikely capable of much. Keep it away from children, they'll think it's a toy.

It's ok to be a small little knife.
This isn't big enough to be a real hunting knife, but it might make a good knife to carry up your sleeve, or to keep in your vehicle for an emergency. It has a blade about the same length as my Swiss Army Knife, which is a Tinker model. It's a good size blade to use as a Perry Knife, and the handle is easy to grip when using it this way. My fancy Perry Knife has a smooth handle and slips a lot, so I really do like the grip on this. The sheath comes with a chain similar to what dog tags come with. I plan to replace the chain with a shoelace. This is a good addition to my camping and fishing gear box too. This is the knife to use when you just don't need a bigger more bulky knife.

Not a Hunting or Survival Knife
Being a veteran of the USMC, I can tell you with 100% accuracy that this is NOT a hunting or survival knife. As you can see from the pics above, compared to the USMC KA-BAR survival knife, this thing is a complete joke. This thing does not even fit in my hand - I can't even get a grip on it (only two fingers). It's tiny. And as one user pointed out, this is NOT a 6 inch blade. It's 6 inches overall. Also, as I was taking pictures of this to post on my review, I accidentally dropped it on my wooden countertop and it mashed the tip in (see pic above). This thing is not sharp at all - if it was it would have stuck in the countertop. Running your finger across the blade you can feel how dull it actually is. I can't even see this thing cutting thru rope.In short, DO NOT use this is a survival knife as you'll most likely end up not surviving if you do. This should be marketed as a "novelty" or "replica" of an actual survival/hunting knife. Something you keep on your shelf to show your friends like your Yu-Gi-Oh action figures or baseball cards. Or maybe use it to open mail - but then why wouldn't I just get a regular letter opener? Also, let's not overlook the fact that they are using the Blade Runner branding from the actual Blade Runner movies/tv show too. Seems like Alcon Entertainment (the franchise owners) might have something to say about that.Unless you're looking for a novelty or replica of an actual survival/hunting knife, DO NOT buy this.

It's more like a Toy
While the blade is metal, I would not rely on this as a survival/hunting knife. It definitely looks cool and would be a fun item to have but it is not very practical. It is sharpen but the edge is not sharp at all so it would take some sharpening in order to make it useful. Its sheath and landyard is not the greatest and most likely break/fall apart if worn. In all, it's a knife.
