Got this book and took it away with me on a caravan holiday for a bit reading and to help improve my knowledge of caravan systems. It turned out to be the holiday from hell as far as things going wrong was concerned however, thanks to this book i was able to fix all of the issues and therefore save possibly a couple of hundred quid!Well worth it so if you have a caravan, BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!

All you need to know
This was a birthday present for my Husband. He hasn't put it down since opening it. It's packed full of useful information. An essential addition to the caravan kit.

Probably needs updating
A great book and I'm sure it will be invaluable as I get into this new venture of owning a caravan - especially as it's a 25 year old caravan! My first impressions though were that it's a book written in a slightly old fashioned style. A bit like armchair reading rather than in a punchy and factual manual style. My first big question was what problems to watch for when connecting the 12S electrics between newish car and a pre 1998 caravan. I didn't find an answer even after scouring both ch3 (which is partly on towcar electrics) and ch7 (which has more on 12V electrics in towcar and 'van). The wiring diagrams on pages 104 and 105 are unclear and drawn in different styles. The pre 1998 diagram doesn't even show where the dividing line is between car and caravan!I'm a novice caravanner, but electrically skilled, yet I haven't made sense of what is in this book. It says on page 33 "The fact that pin allocation on 12S connections was changed in 1998 inevitably means that problems arise if you pair an older car with a newer caravan or vice versa". Okay, thanks for the warning, but what exactly these problems are is then not fully explained at all. There's just a "for example" of a new caravan and old car, but nothing for my situation, an old caravan and new car.I have eventually searched the web and found answers, but I think Haynes ought to be concerned that their Caravan Manual has such shortcomings and be considering a serious revision of at least the electrical sections of this book. Properly and consistently drawn wiring diagrams throughout the manual are needed before this ever goes to print again. And all 12V electrics should be covered in one section, not buried in different chapters.
