Lifetime 44 inch Impact Basketball Backboard and Rim Combo

Looked a few options before buying this but very pleased with it. The quality is great and comes very well packaged. For the price it’s really good value. Also dampens the noise so not as loud as others. Loads of fun!

My boys love this, drilled into brick with 6x screws this is nice and sterdy as it is a heavy item. Recommended.

Had read reviews about poor fixings for attaching to brick, but with my husband being a skilled handyman I didn’t worry too much thinking he’ll be fine. Several hours later it is up but the screws are too short to attach the hoop plate so a lot of time was spent messing around, trying to pull them out of the wall to make longer and could only get 3 out of 4 attached. Two people and two ladders were required, plus a load of tools….son is happy now it’s up and it’s already had lots of use.

The thing is reasonably sturdy but there are a number of issues with the manufacture that will drive you wild trying to get it installed. I'm reasonably handy but spent around 4 hours swearing at the thing before eventually managing to do a kind of botch job which so far seems to be holding up. The issues are:* the recess in the plastic backboard where the hoop bracket is located is too small! Like other reviewers, I had to cut away some of the plastic to get the bracket to sit flush into the recess. It beggars belief that the maker of this product continues to sell it without fixing this issue* the lower rear bar of the hoop does not properly locate in the bracket - the curl in the metal in the bottom part of the bracket needs to be widened slightly so that the bar will sit flush. I tried using pliers and hammers to open it up a little but to no avail. This forces the hoop away from the bracket meaning that it is difficult to get nuts on the two lower fixings.* the fixings supplied are not long enough to comfortably pass through the bracket and allow a nut to screwed on. In the end I had to settle for nuts on just the two top fixings. Ridiculous.I'd avoid this product if I were you. Spend your money on something better made where they have thought through the design. Its a classic case of an American company outsourcing their manufacturing to a Chinese company who have contracted to make it at a rock bottom price - with all the risk that brings. Trying to install this kind of thing will ruin your Sunday.

As mentioned in other reviews, the fixings for fitting this to brick walls are absolutely useless. Save yourself hours of stress and buy some proper Rawlplug bolts M8/25L (see picture).You might also need a rubber mallet to force the bottom rail into the bracket - it looks like all the manufacturing measurements were taken before coating the metal parts, so after the coating was added the rails are now either just slightly too big or the brackets are just slightly too small for it all to fit smoothly together.Once it's up it on the wall it does what it's supposed to do so no complaints there, but the fixings and bracket sizes make the whole process far more stressful than it needs to be.

This is a great looking basketball backboard and hoop. I found it pretty straight forward to put up but an extra pair of hands would be advisable although not essential. Seems pretty durable as the hoop is quite heavy but the backboard quite light. Gives everyone hours of fun.

This is a reasonably priced item for the perceived quality. As previously stated the fitting bolts for blockwork are insufficient, more so in my case as it was going onto a pebble dash surface. It looks the part and time will tell whether it will last
