A great shaving brush from a well respected brand
This is a great shaving brush for the money. Kent have always been my go to for brushes and combs so this was an easy choice for me. It’s a really nice brush, just the right density and firmness but soft on the face. As a couple of other reviews agave mentioned, the one flaw of this brush is that the Kent logo print on the handle is smudged all the way around. This is only a tiny issue though and of course it doesn’t affect the function at all. The handle is a good quality plastic, ivory coloured, which feels strong and reasonably weighty. The brush is “silvertex” which is their own synthetic material and feels to be of good quality. It comes with a lifetime warranty which is very reassuring, although in fairness the brush feels like it will last quite some time anyway. My brush came in packaging that was slightly damaged but this is probably just a one off shipping issue. This is a really great option for a good quality shaving brush from a well respected brand and at a very reasonable price.

Synthetic but nice.
Had this for a while now and while I don't use it every morning it has been fairly well used.I have not experienced a single lost hair so far as many others have reported but will likely update this review when/if I do.On the other hand the logo on the front has started to show a lot of wear, with the word "infinity" having rubbed nearly entirely off.The bristles are obviously synthetic on close inspection, despite the dyed-in 'badger' look, and feel very peculiar to the touch however they feel excellent and soft at the tip whilst providing adequate firmness and lathering well which is after all the most important thing. This is my first wet shaving brush so bear in mind I'm no expert but this brush is really fun to use and makes the morning routine just a little bit more interesting.

It works!
The artificial bristles are superb. The last time I bought a shaving brush the natural bristles were so hard and scratchy I threw it away. These ones give a soft feel but generate a good, tight foam (I use a shaving soap stick). I can't say much about its longevity except that after using it daily for a month it hasn't lost any bristles. The handle is smallish but plenty big enough to grasp comfortably. So far I'm a very happy shaver.

the other is fine. Had it not been for this issue I ...
I actually bought two of these, one for myself and one as a gift for my 15 year old son, who has just started shaving. The short story is the performance of the brush itself is decent, however one of the brushes (mine) loses five or more bristles daily, the other is fine. Had it not been for this issue I probably would have given 5 stars as the brush works very well for the low price, lathers well (I use Proraso and a scuttle) and whips up a nice thick cream with not much effort. Hoping to return and to try a replacement as this brush is definitely worth having.

Not for me. Too hard.
Too much backbone.

Cruelty free, great product.
Having recently started my DE shaving journey, I began looking for all the accessories. The whole point of switching to a safety razor was to help the environment and not throw away plastic all the time, so metal razor, blades packed in cardboard and paper, but then it seems recommended that you use a brush that sports the hairs of factory farmed badgers to brush soap onto your face. Now badgers may not be everyone's favourite creature, but I can certainly live without using its hairs to make my shave more fulfilling. Obviously the synthetic brush is plastic, but so sturdy, well made and cheap compared to a badger hair model, I won't be throwing it away, cracking piece of kit, does what it says and doesn't cost a life.

Just what I wanted
After many years using an array of disposable, cartridge and electric razors, I decided to return to ‘proper’ wet shaving using a DE safety razor. Prior to this, in my ‘youth’, I did use a traditional razor with a badger-haired brush until they were worn out (were synthetics available in the 70s?). Anyway, fed up with with the ever-increasing blade-count and prices, without any corresponding improvement in shave quality, and after reading countless reviews regarding razors, blades, and brushes etc I decided to equip myself with an Edwin Jagger Lined Long-handled DE razor (DEL89LI14bl) (British hurray), a Kent Infinity Shaving brush (old British company, another plus), Also, bought a variety of blades Gillette, Wilkinson Sword, Posilver, Astras, Personna Red,and Blues), along with some shaving soaps and creams to try. They all give me an excellent shave, far better than any disposable/cartridge type. Not wanting to spend a fortune in case I found I disliked using a DE razor, I decided to go for the Infinity shaving brush (really good reviews and price), and I am very pleased that I did. It whips up an effective lather, and transfers it to my face, all without any help from any badgers (even the Chinese pest variety!). I don’t find it too stiff or small, (how big a brush do some people want?). It does an excellent job. The brush has not suffered any hair loss or any other problems. I live in a hard-water area and find no problem with anything that I use. The brush works very well, (I have since bought the small stand to go with it (perfect match), Service from Kent and their products, is excellent.
