warm sounding pickups
Put these in a squire vintage modified fretless jazz bass which original pickups had a harsh treble to my ears. These 60's pickups are warm and articulate not at all muffled. The fret board rattle with round wounds is gone and the mwah sound when sliding or vibrato is so much easier to coax out of the bass This makes me to want to pick up and play. Perhaps not the ideal pickup for modern slap playing but will still have enough treble bite to do Larry graham tones. I'm a happy punter.

Not as good as original.
This is the second time I bought a set of these, first ones are great. These are not as good, the growl is missing. Both fitted into late USA jazz basses. Maybe I just got duff one this time.

I had the fitted professionally because I'm useless at stuff like that
I bought these because I tried a USA Jazz bass in a guitar shop and a label in the pick guard said fitted with Fender Custom Shop pick ups. I was impressed enough to buy some. I had the fitted professionally because I'm useless at stuff like that. When I got my guitar back home - it's a ten year old USA made Jazz bass - the difference wasn't 'night and day' different but the sound was definitely better, more focused. The best analogy I can think of is to compare it to a car before and after a service, it did the job before but it's just that little but better after the service. I would expect the to get better and after a few hours' playing. Absolutely no regrets.

Great but getting overpriced!
Months of research (Yes months) and finally got them. Surprisingly they are quite bright exactly what I wanted and most important - They dont get MUDDY when roll of the tone pot!!! Got them on offer and seriously will not spend 180 quid for factory made pickups. People get crazy with prices after this Brexit thing... I could have hand made pickups from Germany for 150GBP

Great pickup for an upgrade.
Upgraded my Fender ‘74 Jazz bass pickup to Custom shop 60 Jazz bass pickup and the result is excellent. Its easy to install and much louder than the old pickup. So if you are thinking of upgrading your jB pickup, gn for Custom shop ‘60. It’s a little bit pricey but the quality is excellent. Recommended

Unbelievable sound
I have a mim active jazz bass I put these pickups in the bass and kept the active electronics. Un eff n believable sound. High notes have a pleasant telecaster like sparkle, low notes are round, smooth deep sound, not sharp. I can't believe how great they sound. I was afraid there wouldn't be much of a difference. But the difference between the original noiseless pickups the bass had and these are night and day. Simply amazing! Highly recommend.

Buen sonido, mal fabricados
