Very nice set and easy to put together. I didn’t even have to look at the instructions, very intuitive and took only a couple of seconds. Just make sure that the side of the pole that has the lip goes on top to hold up handle holder, I noticed in another review someone set it up upside down so it wasn’t staying up. Can’t wait to fully try this set out when the temperature outside starts going down.

Bought the brass handled set for myself, was very happy with the value, build quality, and finish (even though the "color" was closer to graphite or pewter than brass.Was going to buy the same set for my sister (xmas), but brass wasn't available (out of stock, for whatever reason) so I settled for black. Package showed up packed poorly, so that the interior box (one with all the stuff) was sliding about without any packing material. Interior box had taken an impact that bent the shovel in the set. I did my best to bend it back, everything else was ok.The tools were of the same build quality (as the brass set), better than decent, less than excellent, but the finish on the "black" handles was lacking in uniformity and edges/seams weren't smoothed out well or at all, in a couple cases. This gives a rougher, almost unfinished appearance to the black handles.I would recommend this set for someone who doesn't mind the rough look of the handles, if the set can be had for cheap enough, like under $30. It's certainly functional, but lacks the refinement of the brass handled set, which I paid less for.ps.Be sure to use loctite type thread lock on the threads of the handles and the stand, as it will keep anything from loosening up or backing off. I used the blue loctite and it worked like a charm.

Perfect, all I can say.We have a new fireplace and needed the whole kit. Was a little worried for the money would be cheap and flimsy, not the case.I use the tongs alot and again work great.

This set is perfect for our fireplace, it's sturdy and a good size so that it doesn't take up much room. Good value for the price.
