Using this for Stainless Steel Saute Pans
Using this for getting a rough careless idea when the temperature of stainless steel saute pans is ready for sauteing.Granted, I could just splash water onto the saute pan for guessing the proper saute temperature, waiting for the water droplets to dance rather than just sizzle. Without a sensor, I usually either waste a good gallon of water, performing redundant tests, or I forget about the saute pan on the stove top.Usually about halfway towards the green zone is about the correct saute temperature. Likely not the intended application for this analog temperature sensor, however likely the best on the market for my intended purpose. A laser thermometer doesn't work well on stainless steel saute pans. What would be neat, a small battery operated sensor, which would trigger an alarm when the saute pan hit ideal sauteing temperature!

Works well with LeGriddle
Very nice that you can pick it up while hot using the side clips

Accurate but slow
Purchased to show temperature on new Blackstone grill. It appears accurate but response time to temperature changes is very slow. Not what you want if you are looking for instantaneous readings.

Does it's job
Accurate temperature readings and works well with an easy to read display. Has lasted for many cooks. The best part is that you learn how the grill works and where the temp is on the dial. I no longer need this thermometer.

Not What I Expected
Had one of these surface thermometers for my grill at the cabin and really liked the way I could dial in the gas grill to keep the temps between 400-450 F for grilling steak. Decided to get one for home and saw this Cuisinart on Amazon so I ordered it. After two uses the transparent temperature window started browning out even though the temps never got above 450. Now it is at the point where the temperature needle is almost not visible. Scrubbed it with detergent and water, Mr. Clean and Lestoil but no joy. Would not recommend this product until Cuisinart figures out how to put a better cover on the face.

Works well
We use this on our stainless steel flattopgriddle since our other thermometer won't work on it. So far it's been great to check the temp at various spots on the griddle. Would buy again if needed!

OK for the money
I bought this to throw in the middle of a big smoker and my grill when doing slower cooks. I'd say compared to my electronic thermometers it's accurate enough if your shooting for a temp range. The problem is if you are using smoke or a water pan the thermometer becomes completely unreadable. I used a wire clip to mark the 250 degree spot and then I can atleast eyeball and estimate the temp. I'll probably get a few more cooks out of this before I replace it.

Perfect for encaustic work
I use this on my electric griddle to keep from overheating my encaustic waxes. Works perfectly.
