After more than 4 years of ingesting this food, my small breed rescue pooch has made, AND maintained, a REMARKABLE recovery from being a 10 lb underweight malnourished, and otherwise health neglected being! I do feed him a rotation of other vegan foods as well. Variety's of the utmost importance, for many reasons, including staving off developing allergies to any single food. Not only has this food proven to me to be safe and effective, providing all & more of the canine dietary essentials, it's one of the very few dry foods that incorporates Selenium Yeast INSTEAD OF Sodium Selenite!!! Check those two out and compare, for your loved one's safety/health!! I tend to soak kibble (in water that tests clear of detrimental contents) more than not, and mix in other beneficial ingredients -- NOT simply rely on dry kibble bits day in and day out! That'd be torture on multiple levels, even for canines, who tend not to stop and chew most food, thus not generally taste it. (But aroma, that's another thing!) My fur baby's even spunkier, and with a sheeny shiney coat, moist cool nose, sparkly eyes...even more so now than when he was HALF his present age! I'd say this base nutrition has done a LOT to help GET him there AND KEEP him there!

Update- the company seems to be rebranding and recently like doubled the price and it’s also really hard to order. It forced me to look for other options so I guess I won’t be buying this product anymore. Shame because it was a good option for my pup.I don’t normally write reviews but I was so happy with my dogs reaction to the food I had to jump on here! Luna is a vegetarian because she is allergic to meat and fish so my kibble options are limited for her. I always feel so bad because when she’s around other dogs, she can’t have what they have and she looks really sad. It seems like she eats her food because she has no other option, but not because she enjoys it. I get her the garden flavor usually but thought I’d switch it up this time. As soon as she smelled it, she gobbled it all up! So five stars for flavor!

So... I started out with mentioning the sea kelp that is necessary for all vegan dog diets. I think both formulas (this one and the vegetable melody) actually have sea kelp in them this one just advertises it. It's always a good thing to check to make sure your pup is getting enough vegan sourced taurine. This kibble I believe has it. Since we have a Great Dane and as a Giant Breed she is at an increased risk of DCM. We use vegan supplements along with healthy kibble.I do think it's a great value for the money kibble based on shear amount of kibble you get for the weight. There isn't a lot of filler. Dont let the kelp name put you off. It smells like vegetable soup. Our pup dives right in when this one comes up on the rotation.

And for being almost 19 years old he actually will run now where before it was always a slow motion walk, it's nice to see him with a little spring in his step now

Our FAVORITE food!! I also make homemade food for my girls, but I like having a clean kibble handy. My girls both love the flavor, have zero issues or concerns with this formula, and my vet approves!!

Let me start off by saying my dog loves to eat! At first Goldie loved the vegan dog food. He ate it for about a strong three days and then all of a sudden it was a heck no. 🤣🤣 And never ate it again!I don't personally know how it tasted but I can say that it smelt like pure dog crap. It looked like it was hard as a rock, and drier than rice cakes.

We are a vegan household so finding a dog food has been an adventure. We wasted several brands and everyone knows vegan food isn’t cheap. My picky fur babies love that the kelp give this food an extra flavor they love. My dogs are in there teens so I worry about them getting proper nutrition. They are healthy and this food is easily digestible even for my dog who is sensitive to everything. I’m very pleased to finally find a vegan food my dogs both love.
