Didn't know this existed a month ago, now I can't do without it!!
I found it quit difficult and irratiting to baste during my sewing projects as I should. You see, sometimes I would machine stitch on top of the baste stitch and then it's difficult to pull out the baste stitch afterwards. NOW I don't have to worry about that because when I wash the garment the bits of baste stitching just desolves... YAY!!

What a magic wand this is.
No more spending time basting or using glue that leaves residues on your needle and your fabric. Just thread your sewing machine with the water soluble thread, and proceed as if it was not there. Perfect for appliques or provisional seams. Once the job is done, water will dissolve it like magic. The spool holds 10,000 feet and it will not run out in the middle of your work. What more could we sewers ask for?

update:I have not been able to wash out parts of this thread from three shirts---that's after soaking for a total of 12 times over three attempts at removing the thread. Small pieces are hard and stuck into the fabric--just here and there, but enough to ruin the garment. Maybe this thread cannot be ironed. I cannot recommend using this on something you care about. I hope eventually I can get the thread to wash out of the garments I made. I'll be going back to Superior Threads.original:A few years ago I purchased the Superior Threads brand of soluble thread. I quickly came to love it. My spool ran out last week and I decided to try something a little more inexpensive. In my images you can see a distinct difference between the two (on the left is this brand of soluble thread, on the right Superior Threads). You can see that this is thicker and whiter---it's easier to see but also easier to mistake for a real thread. It's also "stickier" than the ST thread. The first thing I used this for was to make gathers, I prefer this brand for that. This brand also takes much more water to break down. To test it (based on a review that stated it doesn't dissolve), I held it under running water. The ST thread will easily break up under a steam iron, or just by touching with wet hands. This stuff is much more tenacious. This could be a good thing or bad thing, depending on one's needs. Personally, I like it, but if you're using it for basting an art quilt or something, you may prefer the ST brand. Both this brand and ST are very strong threads which can withstand a lot of stress. Both resist tangling. I'm very happy with this purchase and don't feel like I bought something inferior. Quite the opposite, actually.

Not what I needed.
Had to return. Nothing wrong with them.

Didn't work
I could not get all of this thread out no matter how hot the water or how much I agitated it. It snapped when I tried to pull it out and all of it would pull out.
