Huge Nostalgia!!!
So far I absolutely love it. Only been playing for and hour but I think it’s amazing. Huge nostalgia from the original game with only a few different things and ungraded textures applied. Not sure why some of the characters names were changed while others weren’t but either way so far so good and everything I hopped for from the revamped of the game I loved as a kid. Will update after playing further.!!!UPDATE!!!So I’ll start with a few pros1. I love that you can be a girl and customize your character a little and even change your hair later on if you want in the mirror2. Love that they didn’t change the storyline. Same things happen that happen in the og (rip Nina)3. More people to choose to marry4. You can actually see when you need to eat and sleep instead of randomly falling over5. There’s a path now between the dig site and the sprites forest area and I love it6. Molly (aka Muffy) and Celia are both the same bright people in the game7. Events like in the other gamesNow to the cons1. The animals. The cows are the same cute definitely and I love them but the horse, sheep, and chickens are their new style and are just plain ugly. The horse especially. I hate riding the horse now cause it just looks janky and has this weird glitch where it slowly walks first them runs. OG horse I way better. Sheep is pink for some god forsaken reason and I hate it a lot, this is coming from a girl who’s character has pink hair. The sheep just doesn’t match the game. The chickens while aren’t terrible just like the horse and sheep don’t match the rest of the game.2. There are too many unneeded and unnecessary cut scenes with the sprits. They get annoying. And some unneeded scenes in general but the others I don’t mind.3. I’m only on year 2 but there isn’t the 2 extra fields with better soil in the back. Hope that comes later on but it if it doesn’t it’s kinda a bummer5. Dig site is a little hard to dig because the dig site people get in the way ALL THE TIME!4. (More personal preference then anything) I honestly hate that you can date Lumina but not Flora. Lumina I never liked even in the og game and honestly having Flora as a bachelorette would have been amazing.Over all I still love the game. There’s some improvements that can be made but that’s any game you play. It’s still a good game and gives huge nostalgia for an OG player.

Just like the original!
People who played the original version of this on the GameCube, rest be assured that it is VERY similar with some tasteful additions. No complaints and brings be right back to the original! Those who have never played it before might be disappointed with the lack of gameplay options, it’s a pretty simple game. So so happy they redid this on the switch! I’ve been playing nonstop

Good-- and not.
Possible game spoilers for the game ahead. As someone who played the original, I was dying excited for this game because Harvest Moon AWL is my all time favorite game. I did meter my expectations, with the understanding that it would be different.Pros:You can pick your gender (including nonbinary!! Woohoo!)Character customization.Same music! You can marry anyone! (Of the original bachelors/bachelorettes from A/nother Wonderful Life)It looks better in a lot of waysCons:Somehow the controls are even worse than the original, navigating the game is just painfulGlitchy. There were things from the original game that I thought were glitches-- like when you talk to your cow and immediately they fall asleep after just when you're about to milk them, it's so sudden and then they get mad. You'd think they'd improve that in the new game, right? Right? No. Or how you can't give gifts to some people if they're looking off into the distance a certain way, or sitting down. Ridiculous, right? Should've been changed, right? Nope. Or when digging at the digsite, if either of the two archeologists are standing a little too close to a certain plot, it's almost impossible to dig there. Actually I remember it being much easier in the original game, they almost made it worse in this one. And how when people walk they look like they are sliding on the ground, we've made leaps and bounds of progress with video game animation, should be a cinch to improve that, right? Negative. It looks worse in a lot of ways. The OG chickens were much cuter, the OG horse was much much much much much cuter. The sheep--- no one asked for it to be pink, right??? And overall the colors are much harsher and oversaturated and over-contrasted--it looses that lifelike nature feel and makes it more gimmick-y.Because there's now double the bachelor/ettes, the cut scenes happen constantly. There's also added cut scenes of the harvest sprites telling you to check your notes, and then forcing you into the notes screen. Like that should absolutely be optional- I played the original game, I know what I'm doing. The worst con of all is the calendar. We only have ten days in a season now. Yes, the old games were a bit long winded, but even after playing it dozens of times I always felt there wasn't enough time to befriend everyone and get all the items. Now I feel like I'm speed-running it and I just wish there was an option for the seasons to be longer.Despite all the cons, I'm still looking forward to continuing the game, it does still breathe fresh life into it. There's a few new things that happen here and there that are interesting. I like the new designs of some characters, it's still fun. And it's just easier to play it on a switch than on an old gamecube console/wii console, I can take it anywhere now.

Nostalgic Remake
I think remakes usually fall short, but Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life did just enough to capture the nostalgia from one of my favorite childhood games. I think a lot of people don’t give it a chance before they quit playing it. Marriage and relationship building is a central part of this game. One of the things that makes it so unique is that your child grows into adulthood and you can help influence their career path. There are new recipes, hybrid crops, mini games, cut scenes, festivals, etc. for you to explore. I have not gotten bored with this game yet!The only complaint I have is that we have to choose pronouns instead of a gender in the beginning and there is same sex marriage. This game is geared towards children so I don’t think it’s appropriate to include those things.

A lovely game!
I had no issues with delivery and the game came packaged professionally in the game card case. The game itself is a lot do fun to play! Before playing this game I was not a big video game player. I would recommend it if you like animal crossing/ other sims. I have been playing nonstop for the two weeks since I got it.
