Needed to break up some large river rock for a new project These worked wellI highly recommend them

I haven't split any rock with them yet, but comparing features to my old ones , they seem decent. When you tap the steel it has a "ring" similar to my old ones , telling me the hardness must be reasonably close. Sizing of the feather and wedges seems to be in line as well. I will report back if I find any issues with them, but for now I am very happy with them, the fit and finish is excellent.

The media could not be loaded. First time breaking rock. Thought the hole I had was big enough and I ruined a few of the wedges(last photo shows). Important make sure you get a 5/8th drill bit.. after the holes were drilled, placed the wedges into the hole and the rock started to break apart.This item holds the wedges together with a rubber O-ring. Can’t say much about the other products but it works if used with the proper equipment.

I received the item and I don't feel like returning them just to get all 10, I just wanted to let you know I only got 9/10.

I have read the reviews on all the other feathers and wedges and most of the complaints about the dumb O-rings are just stupid, throw the O-rings away. These will be my third set and I never use the o-rings, they just get in the way. If you drill a 5/8" hole about 4" deep and align the feathers so they all face the same direction the stone will split with minimal effort, Place the holes about 6" apart and as strait as you can around the stone. No need to ever hit these hard, you tap the wedge till tight then move on to the next. You can easily hear the difference between a loose and tight wedge, just go slow and tap " light hits". If you give these any less than 4 stars its entirely your fault if things didn't go your way.

They are each, three- pieces, held together with a thick rubber o-ring. If lost the O-rings can be replaced with a rubber band or an identical o-ring of course. But the tools their self are durable enough to last a lifetime.They are very easy to use. Just draw a straight line where you want your cut to be, drill pilot holes, drop one wedge in each hole, start hammering each one, one tap at a time. Before you know it, you could have a massive Boulder laying in two pieces. Perfect tool (if not the only tool) for the job.Overall, very well made, great price, one time purchase, anyone can use.
