My go to for Royal Icing— No Compromising on Flavor
I use this Wilton clear vanilla primarily for decorating sugar cookies. Keeping icing bright and white is important. Traditional vanilla extract tends to tint royal icing a beige or off-white color, but this clear version keeps everything looking crisp and clean.Flavor-wise, it's definitely an imitation vanilla, so it doesn’t have the depth or warmth of pure vanilla extract. That said, it still adds a sweet, pleasant vanilla scent and taste—especially once mixed into icing or baked goods. It’s ideal when color matters more than complexity of flavor.Another plus is that the bottle has a narrow spout which helps control the pour and avoid waste. A little goes a long way. I've had no issues with separation or off smells, and the shelf life is awesome.Overall, this is a must-have in my bsking toolkit. I wouldn’t use it for high-end baking where vanilla is a star ingredient, but for cookies, frosting, and cakes that need to stay visually bright—this is my go to every time.Pros:- Keeps icings bright white- Sweet, clean vanilla flavor- Easy to pour and great shelf lifeCons:- Not as deep a flavor as real vanilla- Slight artificial aftertaste if too heavy handed

Best there is
Watkins, regardless of item has been a mainstay in my families home for over 85+ years. My extracts are all Watkins and I miss the door-to-door Watkins salesperson who came around every month or so. Yes, I will order again and again if it’s Watkins.

Bottle top rolling around in box!
First of all I haven't even opened it much less tried to bake with it so I'm just going to go on blind faith that it will be as good as the other Watkins Vanilla Extract which I purchased from a Watkins distributor years ago...and BTW Vanilla Extract does not have an expiration date as it never goes bad. But the thing that baffled me was the cap was just rolling around in the shipping box! Good thing the inner foil seal was still on tight on the bottle itself! There's just no way it could have become unscrewed and fallen off in shipping! I mention this because that very same issue has been mentioned here before!

Soft flavor but good
Its a good vanilla extract a bit softer than once I’ve bought before but very good in flavor I use it for my brownies and cupcakes and cookies and it always makes it taste very good. Definitely would buy again.

BEWARE OF PACKAGING
This is a good product. And I would give it 5 stars, but this is the second time this item has arrived with the cap off the bottle. That means the only thing keeping it from spilling out was the thin sealer on the mouth of the bottle. The shipper should either make sure the cap is tight, or ship the bottle enclosed in a plastic bag.

IT IS WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM WATK8NS
Watkins lives up to its rep for a household item fir my lifetime. It used to be sold door to door out of trunk of cars by salesmen.

Amazing taste
Much better than imitation vanilla. Well worth the price even though it’s more expensive it gives your desserts and baked goods a much better taste/quality.

Clear color.
Good flavor - not too strong. There are some recipes that are best with a clear vanilla rather than the brown kind. This is perfect when you need a clear vanilla flavoring. Large bottle too.
