This last book, the 7th so far in the series is an excellent record of the exciting 1930's decade of Le Mans.The authoritative record of the personalities, the race cars and the detailed statistics and data for the decademake this Official History a must for every person with an interest in this great motor race.The series is a collector's treasure and the two pre world war 2 books are an unique collection of historical information.One hopes that the author of these superb records will write the latest decade from 2000 to make the decade set complete.

Like the other titles of the same series, a must for any who loves the race.What do these books offer?- lots of beautiful pics picturing almost all of the cars- plenty of info related not only to the race itself but also telling facts about the developing of the cars and histories about the drivers, brands and teams- the entry list, the starting order, the race positions hour by hour, the race results, he drivers results year by year, charts and statistics...I simple love it.

Just like the others in this series, this is a wonderfully detailed account of the fortunes of each car competing in each race, year by year. This was the missing link volume between the vintage 1920s and the postwar 1950s and brings to life the enduring challenge of Le Mans for drivers and teams, and the major improvements in design and performance during these years despite the state of the world economy.

...with an explanation as to why the 1936 race was cancelled, which had puzzled me for so very long. The decade certainly saw growth, for only 17 cars started the 1930 race (Bentley's penultimate victory), and manufacturers you'd later see much more about premiered. But the biggest revelation? How many women raced there in that decade.

A superb History of the Le Mans 24hr race. This is probably the best period with excellent pictures of rare cars. The latest of a very good series.
