Needed a little tweaking but it works great now
Installation was pretty quick and easy, especially if you are familiar with installing a doorknob or deadbolt. The only part that can be tricky is drilling the whole. Use the template and you will be ok.After installation it worked great for about 8 times then stopped working. In an attempt to fix it I reset the lock and tried to to delete the lock from the app. I was not able to delete the lock from the app so I had to call support. Blaire was very helpful and was able to show me an alternative way to deleting locks from your app. This is a Chinese company so there is a little bit of a language barrier but her English was way better than my Chinese (non existent).After reconnecting to the lock it worked for a few more times then had the same problem. I could here the motor working but it was not operating the deadbolt. I was talking to a friend who has some similar locks at his workplace and he was mentioning that the deadbolt needs to move freely. My deadbolt was not getting any friction from the strike plate but, I thought of how, if you over tighten the screws when installing a doorknob, the latch would not spring back into place after opening the door. SO, I took the cover off of the lock, loosened the screws that go into the deadbolt mechanism and reassembled the lock. It has worked flawlessly since.In short, if you have problems with the lock not functioning, check that the deadbolt is not hitting the strike plate and that you have not over tightened screws when installing. The screws only need to be tight enough to hold the lock in place.The lock looks great with our new door handle, it works as it should and makes life easier for the whole family (especially the kids). We've had a a couple of unsolicited compliments from friends visiting on how nice it looks.I will say that the app is crap. It has very limited functionality and if you have to delete your lock so you can re-add it after a reset, you can't just delete it. You have to export it to the trash.

EditingThey sent me a replacement and it works fine.Appreciate their support!Since the day we installed the lock it was not working properly, we could lock the door but not open it. So instead of using the code, we had to use the key. After 3 months it is completely useless. If trying to lock the door we get a notification that it is "unauthorized operation", and to unlock the door is impossible with the code, only with a key.So not recommended

Don’t buy this is trash
Purchased, broke within like a month that was already passed the return window. Purchase replacement parts, installed, broken immediately. I’ve installed several hundred door knobs/handles and this is probably the worst one I’ve ever installed. Do not buy, total trash.

Alrighty, let’s start out with some positives:1. The privacy lock option that allows us to key in a series of random number before or after our actual code in order to mask our actual code.2. The ability to give out different codes to friends/family when needed.3. The app associated with the lock is pretty intuitive and easy to use (especially to remotely unlock/lock when needed)Now, let’s talk about why this isn’t a 5 stars. It can pretty much be summed up by: the automatic function it stopped working properly.We placed the amazon purchase of this lock on 4/16/22, it was shipped on 4/17/22 and not received until the following day. The manufacturer’s warranty is one year. On 4/14/23, the lock malfunctioned and stopped fully unlocking our door when key code was entered. Luckily, we had a key hidden to manually unlocked it. Given that we contacted Hornbill within the year warranty, we’re hoping to get a replacement lock sent. Will update this review if/when we get our replacement lock.***** update. Fast easy install & set-up
I just installed and set-up the lock yesterday at my business. It took about an hour to install the hardware, connect the Gateway, and set-up unique codes for 9 users. With the Gateway, I can add or remove codes from home, as well as see a report of when each user locked and unlocked the door. The Gateway connected the first time, and everything works perfectly. One feature that I particularly like is that I can use the employee's name for their code, so when I look at the report is says "Jessica unlocked at 06:48" or "Kristen manually locked at 18:48". We have had issues in the past with employees entering late at night to make food for themselves or take alcohol, and if I don't know what time to look at the security camera, they are very hard to catch. When I can see which employee used the door at a specific time, I know exactly where to search on the security cameras for activity, and if I fire someone, I can immediately remove their access from home, so they can't do anything stupid. This lock replaced a very expensive Yale lock that never worked properly. I never got the Yale lock it to connect to Nest, even after 5 calls to customer support and hours googling for answers, and it finally broke after only 2 years. The deadbolt on the Yale lock was connected to the lock with a little plastic clip, and the plastic part snapped. This new Hornbill lock was half the price of the Yale lock, but sooo much easier to set-up, and it actually works exactly as I need it to the first time. Very intuitive software. I'm extremely happy with this lock!

Awesome door lock.
Very nice modern looking door lock. We like that it uses our finger to unlock and lock the door. That way we do not have to reach for our keys. It also came with RFID tags that we can waive in front of the door to unlock as well. Very nice features easy to install as well. Had to contact customer support to get help on getting it set up Eunice from tech support was very knowledgeable and helpful on getting things done.
