Q: May seem like a silly question but do you put a pillow case on the pillow? Does it distort the sound if you do?

Not a silly question at all. I put a thin pillow protector and a pillow slip on, to reduce the need to wash the pillow. I don't think it makes much difference to the sound, as you want the speaker to be embedded in the filling anyway, so you don't feel it when you're lying on it.

Q: Can you use this with a laptop

yes, it uses a standard 3.5mm jack on it, so any audio port like the one on your laptop or phone or mp3 player will allow you to plug it in and listen ;)

Yes. The speaker inside the cushion has a wire that plugs into your device where earphones would plug into.Hope that helps :)
