Awesome printer
This printer has been awesome so far. It seems like I have tried every printer in the book, but they always deteriorate in print quality. They get lines in the print and horrible smudges after cleaning the heads. It has been extremely frustrating! I have tried Kodak, Epson, and even previous Canon models, but they seem to all cause smudges. I could never print photos with any of them because of the poor print quality. This time I read the reviews and decided to give the Pixma MG6620 a try. Wow is it a nice printer! The wifi connection was completely effortless for all of my peripherals. I found a webpage I wanted to print from my phone, and I was so surprised when it printed! I've never been able to print from my phone before. Also, it's always been a real pain trying to find the printer from laptops in the house. Could never get them to find the printer or print to it without a LONG process, and have never been able to get hubby's laptop to print. THIS PRINTER WAS SO SIMPLE! My husband can print from his laptop for the first time! I love that the printer just sits there sleeping until you want to print, then magically comes alive when you push print. I never have to turn the power on or even mess with the power button. The copies are beautiful! The only thing that I find awkward with the printer is having to verify the paper size when you load paper. If you don't, it doesn't know what size you are using. Seems like a minor thing, but it's something I never had to do before, so it's a little annoying, but for the ease of use and quality of print, I'll certainly accept the minor annoyance. It even does two-sided print effortlessly. I found that to be a real bonus over any printer I've owned before. It does have separate ink containers so you don't waste ink, and I really like that it has two black ink containers, one being an extra large one. Buy this printer and you can rest at ease.

Excellent Value
When we purchase items, especially electronics, we normally go for the middle solution rather than low end or top-of-the-line. Our philosophy is that the more bells and whistles, the more things can go wrong. In addition, there is a steeper learning curve. I also don't want to read a novel to learn how to use something. My HP all-in-one printer recently died. Actually, a carriage spring broke, which resulted in shutting down everything; even the scanner. Nothing wrong with the HP, it gave me years of service, but it's easier and faster to buy new than to repair old (unless I can repair myself, but even then, parts and my time aren't cheap). My requirements were wireless, print in color (8.5x11), occasional photos, as well as scanning capabilities. Anything other than are things I will unlikely utilize. rarely need to print (or scan) large format or anything other than plain paper. I don't need automatic paper feed for scanning and can't even use faxing because I don't have a land line.I've had a lot of printers over the years. From dot matrix, to laser to inkjet. Inkjet has become the standard for home use, and I've come to realize 2 things; they use a lot of ink and they don't last. For this reason, I wanted to minimize the ink I need to buy and keep the pricing to around $100. I focused on Canon printers based on other Amazon reviews. My experience with Canon has been mostly positive, but with a lot of items I have seen a decrease in quality. This is especially true of HP, which seems low grade on consumer products. Just because it's plastic doesn't mean it has to be low quality. The 7520 was my first consideration because of the reviews and for the printing quality. A little more than I wanted to spend. Honestly, the 5520--as a budget printer--can provide everything I needed. I settled on the middle model--the 6520--as it seemed to fit my needs, had a little more going for it from the quality standpoint, and was priced right. I talked myself out of the 7520 because the 7520 has an additional gray ink tray. The last thing I want is to spend more money for another ink color. Less is more here. Also, I don't need that quality when my printing needs are mostly coupons and entertainment tickets.Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was it was a lot smaller and lighter than my HP. My HP required a lot of free clearance on top just to get inside. I followed the "Getting Started" guide, which is all that is needed to setup. Follow the numbered pictures and you shouldn't have a problem. The hardest part of the entire setup for me was the putting in the ink cartridges. Take your time. Everything works thru the 3" screen. My only misstep was when I strayed from the pix and didn't set the paper tray correctly. After loading paper, the tray shifts forward and the arrows need to be aligned. I didn't really get that at first. It will then print a test sheet, and then require the test sheet to be loaded on the scanner in order to get everything aligned. After this, using the 3" screen, I connected to my wireless. Then it was back to my Mac to setup and print/scan to validate. All in all, this was about a 1/2 hour effort. My wife's W8 laptop was also a breeze, but my son's W7 laptop required loading with the CD. Unfortunately, my work computer is not being as cooperative with the setup (requires and administrative password). If you need to do some setup on your laptop, be prepared to visit the Canon web site.So far, everything is working as expected. I've read some reviews complaining about the noise when printing, but honestly, I don't know many printers that don't make noise. My HP was just as noisy, and I actually like the fact that since this printer is upstairs, I can hear if it's printing or not. The only struggle was accessing the printer from my laptop via IP. There is nothing in the enclosed instructions as to the default UID and password (it's "ADMIN" and "canon"). I also can't find an interface from the touch screen. This information is on the Canon website. I'd prefer if Canon would include the UID and Pwd with the printer, and allow password changes from the touchscreen. In regard to the touchscreen, it is a little overly sensitive, and I end up selecting when I want to scroll. Fat fingers may have additional issues. The 7520 has a larger screen, the 5520 smaller.Pros:Packaging, setup and use are fairly straightforward (follow the pictures)It has a small footprintDecent printing, relatively fastEasy setup on Mac and W8The swing-arm way it opens to access cartridges is nice.Cons:Needed to go to online manual to get the printer passwordNeeded to use the setup disk on W7The touch screen can be sensitive, selecting things instead of scrollingSummary: This is a simple and functional printer/scanner that will provide the basics, and if needed, a few extras pertaining to cloud based services (which I have not explored). Setup will go smoothly if instructions are followed. If you have mainstream printing and scanning needs, with occasional need for upscale capabilities, this is an excellent choice for the price. The cons on this printer are mostly low impact and don't hinder use. Ink is included. Overall quality seems decent, and I am happy with the choice.

Excellent Budget Printer
For a $59.99 budget priced printer I am very satisfied with this unit. Set up took under ten minutes and is very easy to follow even without instructions. Connected to the router with no problem and installed the software from the CD with ease. I really love the option of using the auto on function that lets you turn it on remotely so you don't have to run up to where the printer is to turn it on if you are doing a print job from out in the garage or elsewhere in the house. The print quality is excellent and fast, photo quality is very good, even on full size 8.5x11 photo paper. I don't use Canon inks, I buy bulk ink from another supplier and have had no issue with using non Canon ink cartridges in this printer. Scanner/copy functions work great and are fast as well. The only downside I see with this printer is the paper out tray. Even extending it as far as it will go, it's still not enough to keep the paper from being tossed out onto the floor when it's done printing. I will probably use the tray off my old printer to modify this one so that it is long enough to catch and hold the paper when it finishes a print job

Don't waste your money.
This is the worst printer I have owned. The wifi works fine and the print quality is very good. That's were the pros end. I originally bought this from Best Buy and have been unsatisfied and would definitely not recommend this to a friend. I have to manually feed in paper or at least hold it in place while I am printing anything. Many times it will take several sheets at once. Also, it is sooooo slow. The time to start up and finally print your document is ridiculous. It's also unusually loud as well. I've always used Canon printers in the past but I'm afraid that I will never pay good money for an unacceptable printer from canon again. Please avoid! I had a better printer (Pixma) in college, and that was a while ago folks. Don't waste your money.
