Good Bass, good quality, great for the price.
Made my own speakers, used these with new tweeters plus bass and treble switch, the Sony 190 amp I'm using needs good speakers for the bass, I can't fault what comes out, good bass and treble, sounds very good.

Kick A$$ little sub for the money
The media could not be loaded. Watch this tiny sub in action! It's really punching out the bass in the speaker system I just built. I've got it connected to the SUB channel of a cheap class D amp. The other two speakers are InPhase 6 inch car speakers which handle the mid and upper range. The speaker is actually the storage box from under a scooter seat. A portable sound system for a scooterist.

Descent sound
Well made, heavy and descent sound output, well worth the price paid.

Not a bad product. Sounds pretty good.
I've just received two of these woofers and mounted them on a JBL LX1000 cabinet. I couldn't find the exact wattage or ohmage of the original JBL A608 woofers (which are about 20 years old, and started falling apart), so I decided to try these 8" QTX Kevlar woofers.I'm using an old high end Denon AVR-3808 receiver (7x130W @ 8ohm @ 5 channels driven or 2x200W @ 8ohm @ 2 channels driven), and the official PDF for the JBL LX1000 states they are 250W @ 4 ohm, so to make the JBL's more compatible with the receiver I decided to get 8ohm woofers. The mounting process was very easy, it took me no more than 5 minutes to remove the old woofers and install the QTX ones. I measured the end result's resistance using a digital multimeter (UNI-T UT181A), and now the JBL's are 8,2ohms.I can honestly say the JBL cabinet sound great with these QTX woofers, so I ordered two more for the second JBL cabinet, and also I ordered two of Skytec 5,25" kevlar 100W @ 8ohm speakers to exchange the 5" drivers in both cabinets. The reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because Amazon have not given the full specifications of the speaker, which are clearly stated on both the speaker itself and the box it comes in (Amazon, take a picture of the back of the speaker and the case it comes in, so people can easily see what they're ordering, what you're selling here is not lettuce!!!). The only info available on the internet after some Googling is that the woofer is 500W (250W RMS) @ 8ohm and has a 91dB/W/m SPL, which is absolutely not true, since the info on the speaker and its box states that the SPL is 85,5dB, which is much worse than 91dB. Also I'm pretty sure that if you supply a single one of these woofers with 250 Watts, it won't survive very long, and it won't sound good at that level. In my opinion these woofers are not more powerful than 80-100W RMS, which means they can give out continuously an SPL of about 104dB, which is not bad, especially if you have cabinets like the ones I have, that can have two such woofers, and also an amplifier that can feed them. Compared with the original JBL woofers, which are real 91dB SPL, it is really easy to spot that you need to turn your amplifier some steps up to achieve the same audible power with the QTXs.The main difference I can tell between the old JBL woofers and these QTX ones is that the QTX sounds more discothequeish, which is something I like, but maybe not everyone will. Also the mounting holes on the QTXs are at about 1cm less length from each other than the JBLs, so the diameter of the QTX woofer is smaller than the JBL one, which means that you have to make new screw holes, and that leaves the old screw holes visible.Overall - not a bad product, I hope it is durable, I'll try to extend on that front in some months, after I use them for a while.

Little beasts!
I've now purchased four of these, as replacements in two different pairs of speakers (same problem-the foam surrounds had disintegrated over time and use) instant win... these have rubber surrounds so should age better. High power handling, reasonable efficiency, low resonance and , of course (most importantly) yellow fibre cone!.. altogether, pretty cool! Very pleased!

Feels like it will handle high volume but left me unimpressed for HiFi
Based on a previous review of the performance I bought a pair to add some bass to a very good audax mid-range. At the power levels I'm using (80W in a 4m x 5m room) it doesn't perform anywhere near as well as some new old stock 8" audax drivers I bought for the same price off eBay.To be fair this is clearly aimed at the car stereo market and for £20 delivered I shouldn't have expected more. It's a robust driver that feels as though it would stand up to being rattled about at high volumes. It's coming out of the baffle tomorrow to be replaced by vintage 15" drivers that will be arriving via eBay.

Brilliant sound
Purchased for a current project, still awaiting completion, I tested these in an old Goodmans cabinet with tweeters, and the result was much more than I had expected. Great bass and mid output, even at high volumes, clear and smooth.Excellent value
