surprisingly heavy
After reading reviews, and now having it for over a year, I am surprised at it's weight, the satisfying resistance and clickyness of its nob, and it's ability to stay in the same place on my desk with it's thin cushiony, soft bottom.As a bit of an audiophile, I also noticed a bit of a satisfying crunch added to the sound at max vol., so if you are mixing make sure you turn it down a little for accuracy, and then crank it for listening to Dr. John at full resonance.I can definitively say, as someone who is discerning and stingy, this was a fully satisfying purchase, this at $18 and some cents in 2023, and as I see now the same price in 2024

linear potentiometer and detents
Because it isn't a logarithmic or an audio taper potentiometer, when used with headphones, most of the range with be silent until the very end.

Works as advertised
So far everything works as advertised. I can control the volume and I don’t have any extra noise from the unit when adjusting the volume or during regular playback.

Works fine, but one design issue.
A nice compact device with a reasonable increas or decrease in volume range. The design of the product has one disadvantage in that the connections are one in front and one in back, versus having both on the back side. This design doesn't allow the control to be more flexibly positioned on the desk area becuase of the "to computer" or source cable in the front and the "to speaker" cable in back, so you need room for both cables on the desk. If both were in back, you could bring the device up closer to the front of your desk.
