Q: Why are the probes different? Can two different meats be tested on a bbq simultaneously, or is the straight probe simply for oven temperature?

One probe is stuck into the meat you are cooking to get the internal temperature, while the other probe is to accurately measure the cooking temperature of the oven / kamado / grill. You can only use one probe for one piece of meat unfortunately, although if you are cooking several pieces of meat in the same oven that are the same and are roughly the same size, you really only need to monitor one.

Q: Is it possible to set one probe to fahrenheit and the other to celsius? Or does it have to be one or the other for both probes? Thanks

Many thanks for your enquiry. The unit is not able to have split temperature readings so would have to be in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Q: Can you buy replacement probes for it?

No certain, but you can get most things off the internet 👍

The receiver is designed to be hung around the neck and is not supplied with a stand
