Draper 21719 Force Feed Oil Can 500ml
Once I managed to get it primed, it now seems to work fine and, for the money, I think it is fairly well made but it was a bit of a problem to get it started. I quarter filled it with oil and began pumping the lever ...... 5 minutes later, nothing. I was just about to give up and tried a few sort sharp actions on the lever and it finally started pumping oil. If I had fully filled the can, it might have primed easier, maybe. I left it overnight to see if it would still pump after the oil had drained back down the spout and it pumped just fine with a good feel and control so, very pleased with my purchase and it arrived a day early too. Also, no leaks :) I noticed, in the reviews, that other people couldn't get it to pump, in my case it just needed a little coaxing and now it's nice to use.

Good Little Oil Pump
Whilst others have said this is difficult to prime, I followed the instructions from those who had primed it successfully (ie fill it all the way up) and it primed first time. I'm using 5W-30 engine oil in it and after priming it worked really well. The only thing to watch out for is to be careful with the trigger as it is very sensitive but I found that was a good thing as I could put as much or as little oil on as I needed. The pump seems well made and I'm hoping for long life from it. I got the 200ml as I don't need to pump much oil.

Priming issue
At first I was unable to prime this oil can even after pumping the handle for what seemed like a very long time. I then noticed that a small amount of oil was leaking out from under the cap on to the top outside surface of the oil can. To stop this leak of oil I removed the cap, I wrapped 5 or 6 turns of plumber’s tape around the thread, and then I replaced the cap. Having done this the oil can then primed almost immediately and now appears to work perfectly. It appears that the initial leaking from the cap was preventing the oil can from priming properly. This could be a common problem for many users for which there is an easy fix if you were given the appropriate information with the product.

Works well ( if your not an idiot!)
I thought I had got a dud when I first got this. Was convinced it was faulty. Did a bit of googling and it was me! You have to keep pumping the trigger for a good while to basically prime it. After that it stays “primed”for ages. Comes with a flexible or rigid probe thingy. Works well.

Good quality
Tidy hand pump oil can. Using mine for reverse bleeding of my clutch ! Word of warning- it is assembled using grease. Degrease first and purge plenty with brake / clutch fluid. I am using a 5mm ID de I hose over the spout and attach this hose to slave cylinder nipple .

Not fit for purpose. Poorly Designed
I had purchased this oil can to allow for more control over were I was applying the oil and also the flow of the oil rather than using the container the oil came in sadly this did not work out at all.The can comes with both a metal pipe and a flexible hose which give a suitable enough length to get into tight spaces but the oil needs to be pumped quite a bit to force it through the hose and there is no real control over how much oil comes out once it eventually reaches the end of travel in the hose. What I mean is that when you see the oil is at the end you would think to apply only a tiny bit of pressure to the pump action to make only a bit of oil to come out but the pump doesn't work like that so you have to fully depress the pump action which of course releases too much oil which entirely defeats it's purpose with the original container the oil came in doing a better job.I have used lubricant, coolants and oil pretty much daily for the last 20 years so definitely not a case of user error it's just a poor design. Further to that the handle is most uncomfortable especially when using the pump action.I wouldn't even recommend this for the casual user because as I say the container the oil came in unless it is a massive drum will do a better job than this can.Very disappointing and frustrating purchase. Honestly do yourself a favor and look elsewhere I wish I did!

Great value oil can
Having recently retired and taken up model engineering (live steam locos) I needed an oil can, not too big, definitely not too expensive, as in fact, given the different oils I shall need for locos, and lathe and other tooling, I may need 3 or 4 eventually.Well, Draper is a good name, and it does what it says on the can (apologies for that!!) In essence, this product is available from many sources, and this was the best deal I could see, without spending hours on end comparing every price and delivery option available on the net. It has an advantage for me in that the can has a flexible spout, as well as a rigid one, and that basically clinched it for me.I was very happy with the product, and being Amazon, it arrived promptly, exactly when I expected it to. You have to hand it to them - I am an "AA" - (Amazon addict) - I hate shopping at the best of times, and I find that I save time, petrol, and money by getting the best deal I can find on Amazon.Thoroughly recommended.

Replacement works fine
Had to have the first one replaced because of a faulty valve, which was replaced quickly and without charge! The replacement oil can works fine with a steady stream of oil.Comes with a flexible clear plastic spout or a solid metal one both are easy to fit.Mine is the smaller 200ml can which is ample for my use and for the money is a good buy!
