This device can literally cut your electricity bill in half or more. I have two of these installed in 2 different homes and they are easy to install and they just work. The app isn’t perfect - I find that I can’t always define the schedule I want in manual mode and they should simplify it. But as a package it’s a great product in my experience so far.

I have saved $40 a month with this device!Super easy to hook up and setup.Only thing that is a bit awkward for me is setting it up in the app, you have to set it for when you do not want your water tank heating up instead of when you want to have it heating up. No big deal just seemed awkward.

Purchased and installed, all went well. Stopped working 1 week after installation. Reached out to support and they refunded my purchase. There is an issue with this device and some larger water heaters. Support is very responsive, so if you reach out and ask they will let you know.

Edit: Subtracting two stars after battle reconnecting to wifi. Thanks to review by David McDow I figured out hot to reconnect. This is not documented by Aquanta. After dozens of Code Not Found” errors David called them and they informed him that these have bluetooth capability. What you really need to do is go the their app, tap the person symbol in upper right, then support, them reconnect to wifi, and follow the instructions. I have two of these and would never have figured it out. Thanks David! When my electrical coop implemented new “demand” charges for using power from 7-9am and 6-8pm I decided to fight back. With a water heater at each end of the house I knew I could time them to avoid using peak hours. What I didn’t know is how easy it would be with these devices. And surprisingly, I find our water needs for just two of us are easily met with each water heater being on only a hour of each day. Now instead of our bill going up $30 its coming down $30. Without having to do without anything. I also timed my Bullfrog hot tub, ac units, and even my Starlink internet with other devices. Because of new electric vehicles needing charging at home, “demand” peak hours charges are coming to your electric bill if they haven’t already. While these devices are probably overpriced, they should pay for themselves within a year. The $25 optional leak detector could also save the day if a leak should occur. Tip: The phone apps are a little clunky if you have a lot of times to enter. They are far easier to program on the company’s website interface. And it desperately needs a “copy to another day” function so you don’t have to enter times for 7 days a week. But this is a small annoyance for the benefits derived. Thank you for a much needed product and excellent service.

we are an all electric home in SC. Our Electric company started charging us for the highest peek hour each month @$13 Kwh in addition to regular hours so I wanted to turn off our water heater during peek hours determined by the electric company. The Aquanta timer works great you can set multiple times when you want power on or off. It was easy to install with basic electrical experience. The instructions were easy also. The only thing I would like would be a chart showing hourly usage it dose show each days usage.

I installed the Aquanta and wanted to test how it does in saving electricity. I have a smart electric meter that tells me how much power I use each day. I ran the Aquanta in the "efficient" mode and watched my power consumption. Then I ran it in "less efficient" mode and watched consumption.Despite the fact that Aquanta claims I was using 8 kwh more per day to run the water heater, there was no real difference in power consumed, according to the electric company. (see the attached power usage charts) There is no evidence that this device is doing anything except reporting that it is saving you money.When I went on vacation, I put it into "away mode" which is supposed to turn off the water heater. It didn't. It still made hot water.I am suspecting that this device simply reports that it is saving you electricity, but is actually not doing anything. It is a scam. Save your money and do not buy this.

Aquanta is a must-have for your water heater. The only thing I do not like about this product is the app. It takes a while to navigate and understand, and it's not always accurate. The controller itself, which is on the hot water heater, is perfect, and I suggest that everyone purchase one to save money on their power bill. As far as the app goes, an update is needed to make it easier to control. The controller gets 5 stars, while the app, in my opinion, gets 3.
