A great travel guide
Our family went to Europe last summer and spent 4 days in Bruges. This guide was helpful in selecting out hotel, planning our time in Bruges and for making the most of our time when we were there. We like Rick Steves guides and this did not disappoint.

The crossroads of Europe...
Belgium is a small country with a long history of being overrun by Europe's wars. The good news for travelers is that in the present day, it is the seat of the European Union and a thriving commercial and tourist hub. Rick Steves has the details in this new guidebook. The author chooses to focus his detailed narrative on the four major cities of Belgium: Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, and Ghent. Each has an interesting mixture of old and new in terms of history, architecture, museums, and culture. The author offers some excellent suggestions on how to move around, what to see, and where to sleep and eat. The book includes notes for the famous battlefields of Waterloo and of Flanders. As with other Rick Steves guides, the enterprising traveler is encouraged to read the whole book and digest the many details before committing money to a trip. The book includes a nice selection of color and black & white photographs, and some useful maps for exploring cities and moving around Belgium. Well recommended.
