Makes strimming a pleasure
It was hard to fit the Desert Hawk to my Tanaka strimmer. The left-handed nut only fit with a little "persuasion", and I had to use a piece of copper pipe as a washer. However, what a transformation! The old Tanaka head in theory allowed me to wind out line as I needed it. It did that, about one time in ten: the rest of the time the line would be welded stuck, or lost inside the holes, or tangled inside the head. It took me several minutes each time, rewinding line and fitting the thing back together.This head works like a dream. The line lasts longer, and when it finally gets too short to use, it takes a few seconds to pull it out and fit a new one. Why aren't strimmers fitted with this type of head as standard?

Excellent.
Tough... Cuts even through corrugated steel reinforced plastic tubing!!! An unexpected mistake I made. I thought I'd kill it my 1st attempt but it lasted. Very tough cord. Easy to fit and replace cord. No more messing about recharging those dumb push release dispenser type spools. Recommend.

It does A fairly good job...it's better than a bump.line feed head but it's nowhere near as easy or as quick as the same type of quick change head on my ryobi...

Great replacement for a bump feed not really suitable for an Eckman unit
A big improvement over the bump feed version I had before but was difficult to fit to the Eckman unit I have. Comes with a variety of fittings but I had to find some other bits and pieces to get it to attach securely.
