Was hoping this was the ONE
I've been hoping to find a better dry food for a long time now sure was hoping this was it. I have two baby's my Penelope will eat just about anything my male Lu will eat nothing but friskies so took a chance and unfortunately it's not working. That being said for me this checked all the boxes was impressed with the ingredients, quality, and better nutrition, the smell I thought would be iristable to them . The price is a little high but so is most of the better brands out there. The only thing I think could be improved would be the size of the kibble, it's a little small. I'm not regretting the purchase and my baby's are worthi put into wanting the best for them. As we all know cat's are soo picky.

Cat loves it
So stinky, but cat can't get enough of it. Worth it, she's healthy & got a really nice coat. Fewer hairballs than with other food.

Perfect size kibble for a kitty cat to eat
My cats like the size of this kibble which is really small and of course the taste. Best part is there is no crumbs and crushed kibbles at the end of the bag like most dry cat foods. The old saying you get what you pay for!

From lean to lard in under one bag
I recently adopted a senior cat who had clearly been eating low-quality wet and dry food in her former life, and aslo in the shelter where she'd been living for some time. It's been a frustrating and costly journey finding premium wet and dry food she would eat instead, though I was more concerned about her health than my budget. I've been tossing out so much wet food and donating bags of dry food to local cat rescues because my cat wouldn't eat anything that wasn't Fancy Feast wet food or Meow Mix kibble. With the dry food, I tried slowly transitioning her to premium options, adding only a tiny amount to the dreaded Meow Mix. But she didn't seem to even recognize the premium kibble as food -- it was as if I'd filled her bowl with small stones, and she would just stare at her bowl, then painstakingly eat around the new food, picking out just the Meow Mix. Then finally, a Pet Food Express employee suggested the Open Farm dry food. So I checked out the reviews on Amazon, and thought it was worth a try. One of the reviews mentioned weight gain with this food, but as my cat didn't have a weight issue and isn't a big eater, I thought it was more important to get her off the corn-based dry food she clearly preferred. And as unhealthy as the Meow Mix dry food may have been, in the first two months after I brought her home, when she would eat only that and some Fancy Feast wet food, she remained as sleek as when I first adopted her, so I didn't think weight gain was a concern. And I was thrilled to find that she would tolerate the Open Farm salmon formula, even though the smell is overpowering. I also liked that the kibble size is actually large enough so the cat doesn't have to swallow it whole, and can actually use her teeth. The food transition is still in progress, and I'm continuing to mix the Open Farm with just a very small amount of the Meow Mix, so she's not yet getting a serving of just the Open Farm kibble. Her weight (though likely not her health) remained stable when she was still eating the Meow Mix, but now that she's eating mostly the Open Farm (as well as some quality wet food), her body shape has gone from jet to blimp in just a month. She's a very playful and active cat and gets plenty of exercise, she isn't eating a lot of dry food, and doesn't even finish a 3-ounce serving of wet food in a day. So her weight gain has to be due to the introduction of the Open Farm dry food. I started putting out dry food just during the night, hoping she'd then eat more of her wet food during the day, but I should have thought of that sooner, before her shape went from tubular to tubb-ular. I did check the Open Farm website to see if they offer a lower-calorie/senior option, but didn't find anything other than adult and/or indoor offerings. While I'm very happy that after trying many other premium dry foods with zero success, the cat has finally shown that she's willing to eat a better quality food, the hunt is on again for something healthy and less calorie-dense that she'll enjoy before she gets any more hefty. My next attempt will be the Blue Buffalo Tastefuls Weight Control Natural. I can only hope she'll like it, and if not, my local cat rescue will be happy to get yet another food donation, and my search will continue for a healthy dry food that will keep my cat from morphing into what appears to be a fur-covered football.
