Excellent Buy!
Ordered in Nov. Had a wood burning smoker, it was too hard to control temperature, so I converted it. It now works perfectly, using smoke tube. Best ever!! Holds temperature perfectly. Even hot smoked turkey breast for New Years, and since then, sausage several times. Highly recommended.

Not reliable temperature control.
Ordered to replace the old element in my Brinkman smoker. Install went easy, had to cut a small rectangle in the side of the smoker for probe. I used a thermostat with remote probe to keep an eye on the internal temp of the smoker. FYI I had the smoker in the garage with the door closed with the intention to open the door when it started smoking. With the temperature set on "HIGH" the controller continued to cycle on and off and the internal temp never got above 262-265. It would cut power and not power back on until around 220 but the temp would drop to around 190-200 before it started climbing again. The cycle times were too far apart and the wood chips never smoked, on "HIGH" it shouldn't cycle off. After hours of fighting it I gave up and fired up the old charcoal smoker.I'm requesting an exchange to see if it was just the controller, I will update.
