The book was so insightful. We are planning a trip to Greece next year and I’m going to use this book daily.

Typical Rick Steves book. And that’s a GOOD thing!
I like Rick Steves’ philosophy on traveling and I like his books, tv and radio shows, videos and podcasts. Will probably sign up for one of his tours sooner or later. So I liked this book too. My only complaint is that there’s exactly two paragraphs about Crete, a good bit of that devoted to suggestions that you go to one of the other islands instead. Crete is where we’re headed. Sigh. But there’s SO much good info about Greek culture, history and food that I’m still happy with the book. Not to mention the great section on Athens, which made me realize that as long as we have to transit through Athens on the way to Crete anyway, we’d be idiots not to stay over a day or three and enjoy the sights there.

Another great Rick Steves guide
Have purchased 6-7 Rick Steves travel books and found all of them valuable with each one highlighting a hidden gem or two that I would have missed otherwise. So far, this Greece guide has been informative and is helping me to finalize my itinerary, looking forward to my trip this spring.

Best trip tool!
A great tool to prep for a trip. You’ll get ideas of restaurants, sights, transportation options and everything in between. The suggested walking tours were some of the best! I wouldn’t leave home without it!

A must for planning on short notice
I put together a 9-day trip within a month’s notice thanks to this book. I just wish I didn’t spend more than a day in Athens (it’s dirty) and I wish there was a strong warning about not traveling to Greece in the summer. The locals said that because of climate change, last summer and this summer have had worse heatwaves than ever and they can’t stand it either. It was over 100 degrees F and the Acropolis kept closing it was so hot. The islands were even too freaking hot with little wind. If you’re from Baghdad, maybe Greece is okay in the summer, otherwise stay home or go anywhere else!

Our Trip to Greece Was Amazing!
We love all our RS books, and we have purchased about 7 now. Rick never steers us wrong. The information in his bools is so helpful in making each trip special. This book is no exception. If you want to know what to do beyond the basic tourist things everyone does, find the hidden gems, discover authentic experiences, find the dining places off the tourist track, etc., this is the book for you! Thank you Rick!
