Took keyfob to VW paid $116 to have it coded and $75 to have it cut and the coding for the remote would not work. VW claims it was defective.

I will certainly change this review if I can actually find someone who will copy the original key. I haven't yet and I have been actively trying. I'm giving it three stars because I can't really review whether it works until I've actually had it programmed. So far that hasn't been possible. And I live in Los Angeles. So I'm giving it a neutral three stars and after a while, that will be adjusted to zero if I can't get it done or better if I do and it works.I've dealt with a lot of concern that this is a key that cannot be duped because is is not factory. I have visited a locksmith who said that only auto key specialists will do this. I have had phone calls with locksmiths who have told me they can't do it.The lesson is this: if you're considering purchasing, before doing so, find someone who will program it before you sit around with a useless key.

Had them cut and programmed by a locksmith that had the right equipment to program keys for a 2012 beetle. Saved hundreds over the dealership. Only downside is that all of the buttons function intermittently. Sometimes they work, other times they don't, but the ability to start and drive the car works every time, so that's worth saving the extra money when you're just getting them for spare keys. I bought 2 and 1 of them didn't program correctly. I returned it and a replacement was sent immediately at no extra charge. Completely happy, just wish the buttons worked all of the time. However, I would buy again, and recommend as a much cheaper way of getting a spare key!

Ordered this to replace the broken key on my daughter’s Jetta. With the help of a YouTube video I was able to swap from old to new key and works great.

It was a pretty convincing it didn’t have the emblem and it didn’t sync to the car correctly so you have to use the physical key that’s in it and since it was a fake, it didn’t work with the official car so if you have any cars related to this item.It should’ve been a lower price
